Surbuf pad question...

Is it better to use Meg's backing plate with surbufs to run cooler, or do the LC BP's work just as good with these specific pads? I know the Meg's BP is better to use with the MF pads.

One of the advantages of the Meg's plates is the velcro that they use. It's shorter and does not bite into the pads as hard. As long as the velcro is close to the short type, there's nothing wrong with using other brands.

With microfiber and Surbuf pads, backing plate sizing is crucial. The further the backing plate to the surface of the edge, the better the defect removal capabilities. However, it will leave black marks if you bump the plate on the paint.
