This was Saturday's project!
A friend of mine's WRC blue WRX STi PPP. He got it six months ago and said he handn't done anythng to it other than wash it once a week. The previous owner obvioulsy didn't know a thing about detailing because the paint wasn't in great shape - swirled to buggery was an understatement, as you can see in the pics:
After Sonax Gloss shampoo and Clay Magic blue:
The paint was really hard to correct. Whether this is trait of Subaru paint I don't know (see my thread here!) but after trying every pad I had we eventually ended up using:
#83 on a Megs burgandy pad (x2)
#80 on a Sonus DAS green pad
VM on a Sonus DAS blue
EX-P on a Sonus DAS blue
CMW on a Sonus DAS blue
The paint wasn't perfect by the time we'd finished, but you have to look pretty hard to see the swirls we couldn't get out.
Wheels were cleaned with Muc-off wheel cleaner and waxed with Hyperturismo's Wheel Wax.
Tyres cleaned with Muc-off and dressed with Megs Endurance High Gloss.
Wheel wells cleaned with Autoglym Machine and Engine Cleaner.
Windows got Autoglym Glass Polish.
All exterior trim (not that there is much) got CMW.
Interior got Autoglym Interior Shampoo and Vinyl and Rubber Care.
The finished article (in no particular order):
More pics in my gallery (not allowed to stuff them all in one thread!)
