Something fishy about the logon at Meg's forum dot com?

Perpetual Noob
There are a lot of us who post at several forums here. When I went to log in at Meguiar's Online, I got redirected to a generic logon page. Needless to say, I DID NOT enter my user name and password.

I'm not overly savvy, but I didn't think that it was a good idea, not recognizing the page.

Anyone else get this? And, was anyone uncautious enough to enter their name and password? what happened when you did?

Tom

Yes.
I was redirected to a page with Sun Cobalt logo.

I haven't entered username and password yet.

I got the generic Sun page also with no logon opportunity (as though someone would do so). Apparently the same winner who trashed Autopia followed suit at MOL.

Did not go over to Meg's, but yes the Autopia site has been hacked.

Hackers 12 Autopia 0

Just to point out... Detail City has never been hacked and has only had one data loss in over 2 years of operation. :bigups :dcrules

LOL, Fuzz don't be so humble there buddy!

We aren't any better than anyone else. Just very fortunate.

HAHAHA. You best not (in the popular vernacular) tempt fate.

You don't have to worry about identity theft either.

Nobody wants to be you! Bwahahahahahaha!!!

Although there are many many ways to try and prevent website hacking I have found through the years that these measures are overly expensive and in the end its like an Insurance policy you pay and pay and pay and the only time it pays off is when and if you ever get hacked....in other words...If you do daily backups or even as some ppl do Hourly back up then who cares...I say Hack away...Then you just shut down your system ...re-build from the previous Good hr. Block the bad IP's from your server and bam! your back up and running!

I also truely beleive the theory of... Keep a low profile...Make friends not enimies....this way you are less likely to be the one that people want to hack!

Nobody wants to be me because nobody else has the stamina to satisfy the ladies like I do. :naughty As far as making friend goes... I think I have more friends than enemies. I even have a special club for people we drop the axe on. There is a monthly newsletter and everything. The banned members of Detail City are our greatest source of traffic. They would never hack us. :D Most of them are too busy lying out by the pool tanning their butts anyway. :naughty

I think it's great DC also never seems to have the slow connection issues Autopia appears to be plagued with. I don't think there was ever a time I logged onto DC and the load time or connection was slow. That's very impressive! Keep up the good work! :bigups

"So we all sure Autopia was hacked? That just blows"

When I first logged on a weird song played (Middle Eastern) I believe, there were some weird pictures also. Some forums where also disappearing.

It was definitely hacked. I was lurking on Autopia last night when the incident occurred. Someone replaced the banner ad section at the top of each page with a rather disturbing video. :nono

Its a global conspiracy. It could be the makers of NuFinish. Perhaps its the cotton makers trying to slow the sales of microfiber. Keep you eyes open. Watch out DC might be next.

:)

Oh, Charles, shame on you for suggesting that The Fuzz's ladies would have time to make a disturbing video. I'm sure he keeps them far too busy for that!
I too, noticed the problems @ Autopia & MOL, but did not know that they had been hacked. When I tried to refresh my Autopia page last night, it showed I was going to MOL - go figure? Then this a.m., I couldn't refresh MOL.
It's really a shame that there are people out there with nothing better to do than spoil our good "clean" (sorry for that pun!) innocent fun!
Now I'm down to one diversion @ work, and that just isn't right!
