So you think the carpets in your house are clean? Mytee HP60

I think it was 2 years ago the last time I extracted the carpets in the house. I had the smaller Mytee 8070 which has 85" of water lift.

We do not wear shoes in the house. Well....of course I do when I just need to run inside when detailing. :D Carpets are vac'd 1-2 times a week.

Pre-vac as with the carpets in a car this is very important. Each area was vac'd over 4-5 times in different directions.

Today I used the Mytee HP60, da big biatch....137" of water lift. I have had this one for a year.

I pretreated with Ultra-pac and used dry slurry in the tank of the mytee to extract with. Some areas required pre-treating with Bac-out which works great on protein stains (foods.) I pre-treated w/ Citra-Solv for grease or oil stains.

When I pre-treat an area or stain, all you want to do is work the product into the fibers of the carpet with a brush. Excessive scrubbing is not needed.

Most areas got 2 wet strokes, followed by at least 3 dry strokes.

The heavly traffic areas got 3 wet followed by 4 dry strokes.

When the carpets of any car is extracted the waste water is usually 3x as dirty as the above.

Waiting for the living room to dry so I can do the other part:

Yup, I did mine over the winter with some sort of industrial machine my father in-law has. They had never been done since my girl moved into this place. I pre-treated with folex and just used the Zep carpet shampoo. It was unreal the difference. I should have taken pictures.

That's why we have tile through out our house and wood floors on the second story.Having three cats i hate to see what it would look like.

Thanks guys!

Chad, I've been kind of upgrading my HT as of late.

Got the samsung TV right before the superbowl.

Last month or so:
Got a new sub AV123 MFW-15. This thing rocks hard...shake the house...

The amp LPA-1 and processor LMC-1 are made by Emotiva, they are approx 2 years old so picked up both of them for about $500. Amp has 125wpc accross 5 channels and 50wpc for the other rears which I do not use. This setup has really woke up my klipsch KT-LCR (fronts) KT-DS (rears.)

I have a PS3 for blu-ray and it also is great for up converting standard DVDs.

Bryan - between the carpet extracting, and the Amazing Roloff on the gutters, you are turning into Martha Stewart.

Those are fighting :StarWars: words in these parts son....

Very Nice!

Well my set up is not quite to your level yet Bryan, but I would like to get a good high end set up soon...gotta get married first. :out:

Right now I have the following:

-Toshiba HMX95 62" DLP (over 3yrs old now)
-Denon AVR-3803 (Older)
-Klipsh front towers and sub
-Cheap Sony 5.1 surround (yeah I know :D)
-PS3
-Xbox
-Wii

I have roommates so my place is pretty trashed...:o

I'll be moving in with the wife after the wedding and I'd like to sell my DLP along with her 56" DLP and get a nice 50" Plasma. I got her a 42" Panny for her room but would like to have larger one for the family room. I also picked up a decent Denon receiver for her place, since hers had no digital connection, but she needs better speakers as well.

...I need to go check my lotto ticket now! :D

Nice choice of Extractor, Bryan !

I just bought one and recently picked up the big 2-jet wand to do the inside of the house like you did. The Mytee HP60 is certainly a great machine and it really pulls the water out of carpeting.
Ever since I started using it on detailing its amazing how much dirty water comes out of vehicles carpeting and the mats.. Wow I always get 3 gallons of black water out - no matter how clean the carpeting looks before I start.
I guess - Dirt Happens - ! :)
I tried this machine inside but didnt use as many cleaners as you did and dont know anything about a slurry mixture at all. Just sprayed Bissell carpet cleaner on and a little agitation with a brush and extracted it with hot water.
Its a white frezzai (SP?) carpet and it really changed for the better. I need to learn more about using it like you did I guess, right ??
This machine is absolutely the bomb on vehicle carpeting that is for sure.
And now, we will never call S/Steamer, etc., again either..

Can't complain about that setup Chad.

We have a 46" samsung LN46a650 LCD on the wall in the bedroom, which is very nice. But this "LCD based" 67" DLP HL67a750 in the living room is at least 85% the picture quality of the LCD in the bedroom. LCD based means it has no bulb to go out and replace. Rumors are that Sansung will discontinue these LCD based DLPs as they don't have the profit margin of the plasmas and LCDs.

Always check Amazon when looking for a TV. Usually no tax and free white glove delivery (they bring it in, take it out of the box and make sure it works fine.) 30 day return policy... This is how I bought both of these sammys and I saved $500 on each over the best buy price including the sales tax savings.

Dan, I agree the water that is extracted out of vehicles is usually pretty nasty.

Pretty much all the carpet chemicals I use are made for commercial carpet cleaning. There is a place in Atlanta call jon-don that carries most of the stuff that I use. The bac-out products are a little harder to find.....

Yeah, I had to replace my bulb around the 2 year mark. :( It sucks but I still only paid $1900 for the TV and I find the DLP's to look pretty dang good. Not quite to the level of the Plasma or LCD, but I also don't think difference is worth double the price....though it looks like the larger sets have come down a LOT now compaired to what they were when I bought mine.

I have a buddy who sells me TV's at cost.....I've cleaned his car a few times. ;)

Sorry to take your thread off track BTW.

I can buy the BioKleen Bac-Out locally w/o much problem in the 16 oz. size. I've ordered online the 32 oz. size (x4 - which was cheaper than I can find the gallon size). The gallon size is the hard one to find at a favorable price point. I'll toss an ounce or so in the wash on occasion.

I am lucky enough to have not one, but two storefronts within a 10-15 minute drive which sell commercial carpet cleaning supplies and equipment. One of those is also a Jon-Don which has a nationwide presence and on-line services. By frequenting these two locations you can not only learn from the sales staff, but many of the carpet cleaning guys in to buy supplies are usually quite free with helpful advice.

I cannot recommend Definitive Technology speakers highly enough. They have products for most budget ranges and sound incredible. Even their smallest sized speakers in the ProCinema Series have pretty incredible sound - much bigger than you'd imagine.

In my current setup, I run my front speakers full-range because each speaker has an integrated 10" side-firing sub powered by a built-in 300-W amp. Some of their center channels also have integrated subs.

Here's the current version of my speakers: http://www.definitivetech.com/Products/products.aspx?path=Speakers%20By%20Series|BiPolar%20Series&productid=BP7004

If I had the money, I'd have me a pair of these though: http://www.definitivetech.com/Products/products.aspx?path=Speakers%20By%20Series|BiPolar%20Series&productid=BP7000SC
Frequency range down to 11Hz is just insane. For anyone that doesn't know, the low end cutoff for human hearing is 15 to 20Hz. Anything below that can only be felt.

BTW, the carpets in my house are not "clean" as I don't have an extractor yet.Boo Hoo
