Shampoo for weekly QD

I have been using Klasse without wax and QDing with Sonus for my car, and result so far is very pleasing. My only concern is the washing before QDing. I found P21S very effective when I wash the car before applying Klasse, but P21S seems strip Klasse (AIOx1, SGx2) a bit when I use it for weekly QD. Is P21S too strong for weekly QD? What other shampoo will be good on Klassse?

BTW, while I like P21S generally, I found P21S not very good on cleaning bird drops, even right after applying Klasse.

I guess I am not clear on what you are doing with the shampoo. Are you QDing with it? Surely not, right? And unless your car gets "really" dirty or is housed outside it is likely unecessary to shampoo every week as well. Weekly shampooing needs is a frequent misconception and often overly tough on wax. Depends on the situation and the amount of wax "touch up" you are willing to do.

I don't mean to shampoo the car every week before QDing. However, the car is for daily commute and I don't have a garage for it, so it can get very dirty during the week. I tried to wash it just with water and then QD, but some dirty spots just stick over there even after QD.

You've got the right idea, then. The QD will help a lot. Frequent water washes or diluted shampoo washes are better than full-on shampoo washes all the time. Use good judgement regarding dirt. Also, it's not a bad idea to refresh the Klasse every 3-4 months following a clay application. It will do wonders to the look and feel and will "catch" a lot less dirt.

Pinnacle is pretty strong stuff. I would dilute if FOR SURE. To cite an example, I stripped two coats of Pinnacle Paste Glaz completely off my Porsche with one wash of Pinnacle shampoo. Now, granted, it's apples and oranges (Glaza carnuba and Klasse is a polymer) but P21S or Gold Class will not strip the Paste Glaz off. So it puts it in perspective. Pinnacle shampoo is a great cleaner but it is strong so use it carefully and only when warranted. That's all. The same is true with any shampoo, really. They eat at the surface, it's what they do, so use them carefully and as needed. I only use a shampoo every few washes at most.

You can wash your car weekly, just use one ounce of car wash for five gallons on water and you wont have to worry about removing your Klasse.

Hey Brad B - one wash of the pink Megauirs soap (one ounce for one gallon) stripped 95% of my Blitz (only had one layer). Just to give you an idea of how strong that stuff is.

Wow.. i didnt know that Pinnacle Shampoo was that harsh in removing waxes and the sort. I guess i should only use when doing a full detail, such as stripping the entire car of waxes, and sealant and stuff.. alright.. Good thing i found out before it was too late..

Can i use a car wash which has some wax in it, and afterwards, apply a layer of Klasse SG without having to worry if it will not bond?

No, you really should be sure you have a clean base first. Use Prep Sol, denatured alcohol or AIO to be sure all residue, oils and solvents have been removed first to get the best bond.

All In One will strip the finsih off of your car, hide swirls and give the paint a nice shine to start with before layering the Glaze.

If you have it, if not you could use alcohol, it's pretty cheap.

Lemme rephrase my question.. i already did a complete detailing.. I currently have 3 layers SG.. only 2 car washes i have are one with Wax, and Pinnacle.. Can i use the car wash with wax to clean the car, and then follow by applying some more layers of SG?

No. The wax additive is the problem. It will hamper the SG bonding ability. You need to clean that residue off first.

That's what the Dawn wash, even a diluted one, or denatured alcohol, or Prep Sol or Finesse It, or AIO will do.

If you have ONLY Klasse Glaze on your car then wash the car with a normal car soap and layer away.

If you have wax ontop of your Klasse Glaze then follow Brad's advice and strip everything you have on your car and start from scratch.

P.S. That's why people try to stay away from wax ontop of sealents. They will not be able to layer anymore Klasse once wax is used. If you want to use both, just get a good amount of Klasse Glaze on your car and then set up a specific amount of layers you want before you stop using it and decide to layer wax on your car (I would layer the wax at least one coat every two weeks).

As Brad said, a diluted Dawn wash will remove the remaining wax and let you add more SG. It works the same with wax over zaino.

A diluted wash will not remove it all but, yes, basically it will. That's the risk of coating a sealant with a carnuba. You want to be sure you have all the base of a sealant down and then leave it and forget about it. It's there for protection. The carnuba you put on top is what you manipulate for gloss and depth. You don't want to go back and layer the Klasse and then go back and relayer the carnuba. What's the point. The carnuba will just negate the effort of the extra layers of Klasse. Remember. The Polymer is there for protection. The topper is creating the sex appeal.

I have done this to my Jag for the last few years so trust me!
