Scratches in my rims

Got a chance to try Blackfire and the results are great!! I did one coat of polish and 4 coats of APP. Everything buffed out very easily. I used PC to apply everything and MF towels to buff. I used Blitz before, and the shine is very close except the Blackfire is MUCH clearer. The decals on my truck look like they are floating on the paint.



Its raining now and the water is not sheeting it is beading:eek:



I thought it was supposed to sheet but it doesnt really matter to me. The shine is great. Now I'll have to see about how long it lasts.



So far I like it alot..only thing now is to see how long it will last. My truck is outside 24/7.
 
I think what they mean by sheeting is if you pour water on the surface with like a bucket, it wil sheet off. Whenit rains, almost every car beads. Glad to see you like the results.:up
 
Brad4rdHay is correct. This weekend, I washed the Integra and the Accord and when I let water flow (without a nozzle) from the hose, water just sheeted on the surface. The only time water beads is when it's raining. I guess Blackfire should be a little clearer because I too was a little concerned about the sheeting/beading issue.
 
About a half hour ago I went out and poured a bucket of water over the hood and it sheeted very nicely. My neighbors looked at me like I was nutzo because it is still raining out:p



So if the water still beads where does the advantage come with water spots?? Blackfire says that if you top it with carnuba the water will bead and you will get more water spots. You get beading anyway when it rains. This is assuming that the car is parked. Maybe when you are driving

the water sheets off the car??:confused:

now that I got my digicam finally it no longer rains but snows and so I can't post pictures of my sheet/beading and what I mean by it
 
I love beading.....



But if I take the nozzle off the hoze and spray at an angle or pour a bucket on it, it will sheet too. I think most cars will sheet under these conditions.....no matter what is on them..........



I prefer beading.....

I like beading also! I was reading on another Blackfire post that there was a concern about not being able to tell(because of the sheeting issue) if the Blackfire was worn away. Well if the car will bead water like carnuba then wouldn't it be safe to say that if the water STOPS beading then the BF is gone?? Just like a carnuba.

I guess it depends how hard it's raining. If it is just a little sprinkle then it won't be enough water to form sheets. You will still get those tiny little water beads and spots. But if you are in a good downpour, you will see it sheet and if left parked, there would be fewer water spots than say a Zaino'd or Waxed car. Beading definitely has a cool factor when you first look at it, but they do leave spots....

You should see their looks when Im washing my truck when its 32 out!! :cool: Or better yet waxing before a snowstorm or rain!! That always gets them!! Thats ok though..I give them some weird looks when I see their dirty, swirled cars

Got a BMW 330 and would like to get the scratches out of the rims. Any ideas?

Unfortunately I think those have to be reconditioned by a pro that can resurface it or whatever they do. If you find the right guy it doesnt cost very much and can look great.

I saw the title and was expecting something different. Those ARE some serious scratches. Looks like good advice above.
 
The bad thing is that all four rims have this. :doh:


So the next question is, how do you find someone locally that can help with these?
