First up, '06 Sprint Blue S4; good condition overall, light swirls. ONR, Clay, Hi-temp Medium Cut, EX-P buffed off with OCW:CJ.
'04 Brilliant Silver G35, moderate swirling. ONR, clay, Menz IP/orange, FII/white, Prime Strong, AJ. Only outside pic is one the owner sent me the next day, heavy rain at the time of the detail.
'93 black RX-7. The car was pretty swirled and has some hazing/holograming from previous efforts. The paint was also about the softest I've ever experienced. My pakshak mf's were marring it wiping off polish residue. :doh
ONR, Clay, OHC @ 1500, OC/orange, FPII/grey, Souveran. It was night by the time I was done...
'70 Dodge Challenger. The car was repainted about 6 months ago, I thought it'd be cake but alas; it's been sitting in a garage with a sandblaster, so it had silicate *all over it*, thick, it felt like 800 grit sandpaper... I went though a 1000g bar of clay over ~2.5-3 hours of claying. I then polished with IP/orange @ 1400, 106FF/grey @1200, topped with Clearkote carnauba.
Another G35, this time a black coupe. As you can see it was heavily swirled - tons of horizontal marring from brush washes. ONR, Clay, Menz PG/RMG @1500, Menz FPII/white @1300, 106ff/grey via PC. Topped with RMG/nattys blue.
Hey guys - pillars are done with tape and 4 inch pads. I used to just tape them and use 6'5" pads but I got some 4"ers a couple months ago and love them. I usually do orange + IP/OC then white/ + FPII.
The Challenger is done minus the interior. He is waiting ont he dash, as soon as that arrives he is going to drop the interior in and ready to rock. He has a 440 in it and is itching to get to the track.
I do not have outside pics of the RX-7, it was 10pm when I finished so way too dark. I may see the owner this weekend and will try to snap some pics.
Oh, RMG = Clearkote Red Moose Glaze.
Sean, I got some hi-temp levellers based mostly on your posts, I can't wait to try them! I've used the medium one and it was very nice. EC is calling my name.
Yep, 90% of my pads are LC. I have a few Sonus DAS ones too.
Oh, to the person who asked about my lights. I have one 2 light tower of halogens (500w each) and two "floor" halogens (1000W). I use the floor ones to find swirls/marring and the tower as diffused light to help find any hazing I'm creating. Seems to work well.
