Nice. I'm psyched. I like PG, but it leaves a lot of hazing.

I actually just tried the heavy cut (Magnum 357) and the light cut (Smooth Cut) and was super impressed by both. When I've tried em all maybe I will write a review!

Thanks for the Info,

Find myself not willing to grab the 4 inch pads since I have a Rotary now. I have used the Med Cut via PC and found it not the most user friendly polish to work since it's geared to rotary heat. I bet the EC is well worth it though.

Heya - I agree, Med cut is more suited to a rotary; it breaks down much faster and produces less hazing that way. I think via PC users will be better off with heavy cut (which is a machine compound) or smooth cut, which works equally well with PC or rotary. Med cut and EC seem to be rotary only. I was only able to get away with Med cut on that audi since the clear was so hard.

As for the 4" pads - I didn't get them for more cut on the PC but for use in tigher spots. I was getting anoyed with pillars, areas between emblems, inside door handles etc.. so I got one orange, white, and grey 4" pad for those areas.

Cheers.

Thanks guys. Got a couple outdoor shots of the RX-7 today at a meet. The owner won "Best RX-7". :) I didn't know it when I did the detail but he is putting down ~375whp.

Yeah, great work on an interesting batch of vehicles!

I'm especially impressed by the way you match the right product(s) to the job :xyxthumbs

Was the paint on the newer S4 as hard as that on the older Audi? I'm still utterly  about all the conflicting reports I get about the paint on those A4/S4s.

The paint on both S4's I've done in the last 10 days was hard, but not *as hard* as the '02 A4. I don't really know how to quantify it other that to say that on most Japanese cars (like mine) Hi Temp Med cut will leave some micromarring, and on the S4 in this thread it left none at all. On the other hand on the '05 S4 PG/yellow @1500 did leave some micromarring. In contrast, believe it or not on the silver A4 I could have almost gone from PG on a yellow LC pad to LSP, I was joking to the owner that I did the 106ff step just because I couldn't swallow the idea of going from PG to a sealant. It was really, really hard. I don't recall ever needing to do PG/yellow @1500 twice on a panel to get all the marring.

Cheers.

Thanks for elaborating, I found your explantion easy to understand. It sure is funny how there's such variation in the Audi clearcoats. Not surprised you found the '02 so hard, sounds like our '00 and '01 clear.

Lovin the 7 and the Challenger too! do you know if he imported the 96-97 oem whale tail wing on the 7?

I'm not certain, but I believe he did import the jdm spoiler. He said everything was OEM and he was going for the JDM look.

Thanks guys.
