Happy detailing!!!!!!!!

It's 1am now and I'm sitting in front of computer hoping for sun to rise sooner and get my car washed. I better find another hobby soon. ;)

...I will head out to wash two filthy, filthy cars. It is supposed to hit lo 50's here (Boston) today and the roads are fairly clean so that means its washing prime time!

Enjoy, all you winter washers!:up

I washed the wife's 4Runner yesterday at a self-service place. The wife actually volunteered to help. Its supposed to be 55 here today so I will be able to take the show car out of the garage and mess around with it.....

Can't wait for spring :bounce

In the 60's here. Right now I'm cracking open two shipping boxes. One from Zaino, one from CMA.

:bounce

Supposed to be in the mid 60's here in Omaha today, so I have big plans . . . I'm trying out ZFX for the first time today, and I hope to sneak in a quick clay first to remove all traces of winter grime before I seal. It's rare to have such warm temps in the midwest in January, and it's a small miracle that the nice weather is coinciding with the weekend. The Detailing Gods have smiled! :up

It's a little after 8:00 am here now; I'm just waiting for my towels to dry and the temperature to come up a little so I can get started . . . I'll fire up the digicam for pics of the results.

we're having temps in the 50s here this weekend too. i'm detailing a 4-runner for a friend of mine. it is suppose to be white but the paint is so dull it's almost yellow looking. it looks like a good 8 hours on the driveway for me today. the inside is absolutely filthy too. i have my work cut out for me today.

i'll get some pics for the after results...

Now there is a guy with his priorities in order. :D As long as the rain stays away I'm going to take my nearly 6 year old son out to ride his new Honda XR70 motorcycle offroad today. I'll save my cleaning till I get home.

I washed my car at the quarter (X6) car wash the other day when it was about 20 degrees out. I only had $3.00 in quarters so I had to drive home to get more money so I could use the hot water rinse again to remove the towel that froze on the roof after I forgot it there while drying the Jeep! I think people thought I was the delivery guy for the company that washes commericial cleaning rags, etc! I once created a skating rink in the front yard when I left the hose running and went in to take a nap after one of my "eskimo washes". It was pretty nice out yesterday so I neglected every other obligation and detailed the Cherokee. So now I see that TortoiseAWD says it's gonna be about 60 outside today here in Omaha. My wife is gonna kill me when she sees me out detailing the Corvette instead of doing the stuff I got in trouble for not doing yesterday, but hey, my cars are gonna look great in my funeral procession!

<em class='bbc'>but hey, my cars are gonna look great in my funeral procession![/i]

Bury me however you like but that hearse better not have siwrl marks, and the tires better be cleaned AND protected, and the glass better sparkle, and I want my casket covered in Souveran, and.....................:D :up

I detail my cars on saturday and sometimes sunday.

this is a good time to remind everyone that meguair's tech support is not only outstanding and their 800 number is posted on their web site and on every product <strong class='bbc'>but they're open saturdays[/b] as well.

I got my car all vaccumed out and washer her this morning. It's another great day here. I think tomorrow i'll 303 the tires Klasse all the plastic and get some Sonus on the rest of it. I also did my good deed for the day by telling the cute girl waiting in line behind me at the carwash about this site for good advice.

Hi Everyone,

I am sitting here laughing with all these post. I can see me doing the same. I spent my vacation reading this and several other forums to learn detailing.

Question? Can you detail in cool moist climate? I live 3,000 feet above sea level. When the sun goes away, it gets very cool, in the 60's at noon. I tried to polish and wax the other day and it was a struggle. I am asking this only because I understand detailing should not be done in direct sunlight. For me this means the weather turns from hot 90-degree humid weather into the 60's very fast, within minutes and then back to the upper 80's when the sun comes out again. Usually this happens four to five times a day.

I do not have a garage, so this is a challenge.

Happy detailing!

I did my civic today. 1 coat of AIO and 1 coat of #26. I didnt have much time so i couldnt do SG. Still looks great though :up
