I Must apologize that it has taken me so long to get back and answer questions. I have been busier than busy, and i rarely get to see my computer aside from invoicing and e-mail
GSRstilez: Thanks so much sean. It is cool that you seem to appreciate my work as much as i do yours :up The board that the cars are from mostly is
www.ubrf.org some are from other places, but the altima, the VR-4 and the EVO are from there.
Jcrawford: Allright you probably wont believe me if i told you what i used on the altima, but i am not lying!
Altima:
Wash with QEW
Clay for almost 2.5 hours

There was white paint sprayed all over that you cant see great in the pictures HORRIBLE!!
Then it got hit with SSR3 on rotary to cut the oxidation and the severe swirling.
then we used DACP o nthe pc to clean it up some more
And now for the hard to believe part.... We used colorX to remove the last traces of swirling, and to add protection. Then we topped with #16 to give it the wet look. ColorX + 16 was a great combination.
VR-4:
Wash with QEW
Again a ton of claying
Meguiars medallion paint cleaner by pc
Dacp by rotary white pad
Poorboys EX-p by pc Black pad
topped the horizontal panels with #16 cause i had a few min while waiting on the customer,
So in short, they were both PC and rotary. I treat both machines as go to when it comes to tough cars. I think that both are immensely important to have in your arsenal.
NavindraLR:
when i do paint touch-up, what i do is polish first with the rotary and a compound to clean up the area, then i spray with degreaser and prepsol. Then i scuff up the edges and inside of the chip with a tiny piece of 800 grit. I have all of my paint mixed up at a dupont shop, and they give me custom mixed air dry enamel. I use ez-dabber brushes to lightly touch the area with paint. you can see the brushes at
www.ezmix.com After the paint is in, i let it sit for ~1 hour, and lightly wetsand the area with 1K grit paper on a foam contour block. then i touch the paint to it one more time to ensure perfect fill (paint shrinks as it drys), and i let it dry for several hours. Then i wetsand with 2k grit, and polish with the rotary and a compound, followed by the pc and a medium polish, then fine. I dont wax, just to ensure proper drying etc... No this is a very time consuming process, and i charge quite a bit more than competing shops just because i make the chips PERFECT, i dont just dab on paint and push them out the door. As you can see in the pics, the touch-ups are not visible at all, and before they were horrible.
Thanks again for all of the comments
