Clicking any pic will take you to the respective gallery

Enjoy the show....

First are the pics of sleepy's car from the other thread:

Here are some pics to go with this thread:

Before, Not enough lighting to see the staining, but believe me that the paint was a brown tint after washing, and it took about 2 hours of claying, followed by a paint cleaner to get it back to white:

His car after:

Then adamethan's car:

I still havent gotten ahold of adam long enough to get full after pictures of his car, but this one was a miracle!!

here are the pictures that i have for now:

Before:

Half the hood polished (it got even better as the day went on, but i have no pictures yet :( )

Next is Paint touch-up on thefastevo's Evo:

i filled in 10 chips on the hood, and about 15 on the fender door seam, can you see them??

Now for the non-ubrf cars from labor day weekend-week

Chevy 1500 work truck:

Before (swirled to ****!):

After (smooth as glass):

Hood half polished to give an idea of the extent of the damage:

Tar removal and a wax on a week old bonneville:

this womans husband drove her brand new car through fresh hot tar. It burned the clear coat badly. The dealer suggested a $900 repaint. I suggested a $50 wetsanding job by me.... here is how it came out (the tar was actually up the doors too, but i didn't take pics of that. All of the tar stains sanded off the doors 100%.

Tar stains before:

Tar stains after:

Car after being waxed:

I also have pictures of a huge GMC sierra, a chevy cav, and a old caprice classic, and a BMW 740iL, But there are sooo many already in this post, i will save them for next week :)

Thanks ws6,

And i didn't really mention for the bonneville i had to chew away at the top layer of clear with 1800, 2000, and finally the rotary with a medium-heavy compound to get the staind out of the fender and off of the doors. You would think he should know better than to drive a brand new car into fresh hot tar :nixweiss Ah well, his truck (which i didn't touch) was even at autopian standards too. I guess i just dont understand

Mike,

Great work. Was the Altima a repaint? Reason for askiing as the car looks to oxidized for it's age. What did you use on the Altima?

I always liked the VR-4's. What was your process as the paint looks wet? Is the hood a rust survivor?

Eric

wow you were busy! :D

awesome work, the altima and two chevy trucks, wow, nice transformation! great jobs! :xyxthumbs

and when you said you went through the top layer of clear on the bonneville, there's some clear left, right? ;)

looks a little exaggerated.

:nixweiss :nixweiss what looks exaggerated?? The altima? It was one of the worst finishes i have ever done. It was covered in white paint overspray (seemed like house paint), and it was beyond oxidized. The pictures were taken after washing, and before polishing, then with the hood half polished. I will be back in buffalo this weekend, and i will get some more full vehicle shots.

If you are refering to the pictures in general, then you are just wrong. Every picture is taken on Kodak HD film, scanned in on a negative scanner, and posted just how it is on the CD. I dont use photoshop, and my camera skills are horrible so i couldn't even beging to use a camera to enhance pictures.

So please elaborate on what looks "exaggerated" to you??

Hey Eric, I will look at the year of the altima this weekend, i dont have it in my records for some weird reason. It wasn't a re-paint, it was never cared for. I dont know if he ever waxed it once in its life. The paint was so dry and gritty feeling, it made me sick!

The vr-4 was washed and clayed. Then i used a paint cleaner by pc on a polishing pad, followed by dacp on the rotary, and dacp on the pc both polishing pads. then i used the wolfgang prewax cleaner to give it a final cleaning (yes it was that badly stained :( )and i topped it off with ex-p. I really like how ex-p looks on white. I am not sure about rust, i know the hood was replaced, then damaged, and that is why there is a chunk out of the front right.

This isn't even all of them.... I could post up another thread with the same ammount or even more cars that i did last week. I just havent had the time to be posting all of my work like alot of the other guys do. I left off a couple more Big a$$ trucks, a cavy, a firebird, a lancer, a celica, and a camry, and probably a few others that i didn't even bother taking pictures of... and this is just last week alone !:xyxthumbs :xyxthumbs

As for the bonneville, yes there was some there, and i did add a couple layers of clear back over the whole area when we were done. It blended perfectly, and seemed to adhere real strong so hopefully she will be safe from failure.

Thanks for all of the compliments I appreciate it :)

Ban for being a **** :nono

Mike,

Amazing work as usual! Everything came out stunning. Which board are these cars from?

Holy hell on that Altima. Looks similar to a Maxima I did a couple weeks back.

Don't mind Detail1, sounds like an unhappy competitor :)

Take care.

tpgsr,

excellent work!!! what products did you use on the altima and mitsubishi??? also were these jobs PC or rotary?

I Must apologize that it has taken me so long to get back and answer questions. I have been busier than busy, and i rarely get to see my computer aside from invoicing and e-mail :(

GSRstilez: Thanks so much sean. It is cool that you seem to appreciate my work as much as i do yours :up The board that the cars are from mostly is www.ubrf.org some are from other places, but the altima, the VR-4 and the EVO are from there.

Jcrawford: Allright you probably wont believe me if i told you what i used on the altima, but i am not lying!

Altima:

Wash with QEW

Clay for almost 2.5 hours :( There was white paint sprayed all over that you cant see great in the pictures HORRIBLE!!

Then it got hit with SSR3 on rotary to cut the oxidation and the severe swirling.

then we used DACP o nthe pc to clean it up some more

And now for the hard to believe part.... We used colorX to remove the last traces of swirling, and to add protection. Then we topped with #16 to give it the wet look. ColorX + 16 was a great combination.

VR-4:

Wash with QEW

Again a ton of claying

Meguiars medallion paint cleaner by pc

Dacp by rotary white pad

Poorboys EX-p by pc Black pad

topped the horizontal panels with #16 cause i had a few min while waiting on the customer, :D

So in short, they were both PC and rotary. I treat both machines as go to when it comes to tough cars. I think that both are immensely important to have in your arsenal.

NavindraLR:

when i do paint touch-up, what i do is polish first with the rotary and a compound to clean up the area, then i spray with degreaser and prepsol. Then i scuff up the edges and inside of the chip with a tiny piece of 800 grit. I have all of my paint mixed up at a dupont shop, and they give me custom mixed air dry enamel. I use ez-dabber brushes to lightly touch the area with paint. you can see the brushes at www.ezmix.com After the paint is in, i let it sit for ~1 hour, and lightly wetsand the area with 1K grit paper on a foam contour block. then i touch the paint to it one more time to ensure perfect fill (paint shrinks as it drys), and i let it dry for several hours. Then i wetsand with 2k grit, and polish with the rotary and a compound, followed by the pc and a medium polish, then fine. I dont wax, just to ensure proper drying etc... No this is a very time consuming process, and i charge quite a bit more than competing shops just because i make the chips PERFECT, i dont just dab on paint and push them out the door. As you can see in the pics, the touch-ups are not visible at all, and before they were horrible.

Thanks again for all of the comments :)

Mike
