WOW! That 968 is sweet. I love 968s no doubt they are about the most powerful NA 4-Cyl I know of stock. Really great cars. I really like this pic:

I can only imagine how good that 968 would look with some Pinnacle Souveran on it.

How come the pic loaded for you? LOL I bet it would look great but thats one expensive wax! It has the biggest 4 banger ever made at 3.0 liters and produces 240 hp

Sweet ride!! Very nice finish too!

I've allways wanted either a 928s4 or a 968.

You make me want the 968. Excellent example of a :xyxthumbs car!

SW

Thanks sfiveten. By the way what does your name stand for if that isnt too dumb a question? I'm biased ofcourse for the 968 but seeing them side by side made me choose the 968. I went to a lot that had all kinds of Porsches before making my choice that way I didnt have buyers remorse. I will say that I might consider short cuts twin turbo if he wants to give me it. LOL I loved that body shape. I hate the new ones. They look like boxsters with a hard top. No lines.

My SN is based on my sport of choice.

I love to climb and at the time I started playing on the net

I was climbing at a 5.10 level. It was also the brand name of my climbing shoes and my height.

There you have it.

Once again sweet ride! Until I get my Porsche I can only :bow down to you and others like you.

SW

hey, Spree - i agree wth you - the shape of the 996's is more bland than the 993's. But I'd love to take you for a ride in my baby. I guarantee it will look entirely different to you after that :)

Carguy I'm sure your car flys. Infact I have read a lot about the newer ones. Interms of speed and performance I'm sure the newer ones are better and your car is awesome. As far as styling we all have our personal taste. I prefer the older ones but my girl friend loves the newer ones and hates the older ones. You would much rather give her a ride than me. She is much better looking.

I thought the new 911's were water cooled also?Arent the boxsters watercooled? Hey I know the new ones run awesome and fly. I also think the new interiors are great. I just like the older exteriors better. Its all just personal taste. My gf likes the new bodys. I just dont like Boxsters much and I dont like that the new 911's look so similar to bosters. That said I would love a 996 shift knob and steering wheel. They are awesome!

2006 Range Rover Sport - 2 day correction detail

I did this one a while back, but someone brought it up to my memory this week so I thought I'd share it here. This was also when I had enough time to do more extensive writeups like this lol.

This owner had bought it recently and wanted to get it looking better than new. I was happy to help. Upon inspection of the car, I noticed that the previous owner did not care for it at all. Extreme baked on brake dust, extreme contaminants on the surface of the paint, and severe swirls all over it. There was also some paintwork evident on the left passenger door, horrible holograms, sanding marks, and pigtails left in the clear. Thankfully this whole thing cleaned up very nicely. To finish this one off was Swissvax Concorso, applied by bare hand. This wax gives an incredible luster and depth to the paint, warmth of color, and great durability for a wax. Ok enough jibber jabber, onto the pics!

Total time for completion: 23 hours

When I arrived, here is what I started with

GTOandRange078.jpg

Swirls...

GTOandRange086.jpg

more swirls

GTOandRange085.jpg

yes, still more swirls.....

GTOandRange088.jpg

nasty exhaust tips

GTOandRange094.jpg

GTOandRange093.jpg

GTOandRange092.jpg

You can see how dry and dull the paint looks

GTOandRange091.jpg

GTOandRange090.jpg

The wheels.... this took a while...

GTOandRange080.jpg

After about 2 1/2 hours on the wheels and wheel wells, it was time to wash it. Onto the pre-washing soak...

GTOandRange100.jpg

Here is the Meguiar's mild claybar... This is how heavy the contamination was on this car. It started out pure white. Yet, this is NOT after doing the whole car! This pic was taken after only doing the top edge of the rear panel (about a 4"x20" section)!!! After this I knew I needed the heavy artillery. So out came the Meguiar's aggressive red clay.

GTOandRange102.jpg

After claying, it was time for the next wash. Now you can see the true condition of the paint and swirls without dirt and contaminents interfering.

GTOandRange106.jpg

Pictures before the buffing process, under the halogens.

The repainted door. You can see the holograms from someone who didn't know how to use a rotary properly.

GTOandRange130.jpg

More problems on the same door, you can see the pigtails here

GTOandRange131.jpg

50/50 shot

Fully corrected!

A few more 50/50 shots of various spots

After 16 hours of compounding and polishing, it was brought back outside for another bath to remove the polishing dust and any polishing oils remaining. You can see the clarity restored to the paint and no swirls. Only a couple RIDS remained.

GTOandRange152.jpg

After drying, it was time for the Swissvax Concorso. And here are the results.

WOW Jeff,
That was an amazing restoration. The after pictures look like a completely different Range Rover. Even the color looks different. Those were also some really nasty wheels. What did you use to clean them up? Also, what products did you use to compound and polish, if you don't mind me asking?
AWESOME:notworthy:

Thanks!! The wheels took several cleanings with P21S Wheel Gel and a LOT of scrubbing.

I think I did Rotary+M105+LC PFW, then PC+M205+LC white.

Another great correction job Jeff! \m/

Amazing how much crap can accumulates on the paint when a vehicle is not washed regularly...which clearly this RR was not.

Great job! RR came out beautiful! I love RR so much, I would defenetely consider purchasing one. One question, why did it take you 2 1/2 hours on wheels/wheel wells? Did you remove the wheels to clean them (that could explain)? If it's caked on brake dust you should use Sonax Full Effect wheel cleaner, which will actually clean, and it doesn't take all that long...just wondering...
