Greetings All --

Sloppy weather is around the corner. My cars all have carpeted floor mats and I'm looking for rubber or equiv. mats to use as a cover or temporary replacement for the winter.

What are your suggestions and where to look?

Thanks!

McNeil sells good mats at a fair price (I believe ~$80 for a 4 mat high quality rubber set). You can find their ads in any big circulation auto magazine, such as Car & Driver, Automobile, Motortrend, etc.

I have used some beefy rubber mats from my local auto parts store (Trak Auto) that runs approximately $20 a mat. Since I rarely to never have backseat passengers, I just bought them for the front. They work VERY well.

Target sells rubber mats that are very similar to WeatherTeck mats. The WeatherTeck mats work VERY well, and the mats at Target look just like them. I think the are around $20 at Target.

Weathertech mats were $75.00 for four delivered. Nice, heavy sectionalized mat with additional cut outs stamped into it for customizing the fit a little further. They have worked out good for me so far.

Husky Liners

They are molded to exactly fit your vehicle and come in an assortment of colors.

Do a search on the internet to find the cheapest dealer.

It could mean that other people having them is a good thing! Does any body keep their Weathertechs in all year around?

[/b]</blockquote>I actually didn't mean that other people having them is a bad thing, rather that I don't have much to offer this thread. I keep mine in 365 days of the year. N. Reading, huh?? A good friend of mine lives in Wakefield! ;)

I see that McNeil sells them, but is there a cheaper source for them on the internet?

Rain is moving towards Seattle  Must save my floor mats from the Satan Rains...

I like and use some from Wal-mart. They are for sport utes but I think they just cover more. They hold a lot of water and look very professional (for walmart :)).

I just happened to stop by our local Wally World today and think I saw the mats you were referring to - imitation weather tech look. Seem fairly heavy with deep channels, and just 8 bucks for a pair of fronts. I'm gonna check out what Target has, as mentioned previously in this thread. It looks like I may be able to get by for the winter months without having to spend $50+ for front mats. This <em class='bbc'>is[/i] good news! (Especially after spending $$$ for Zaino system, a couple of towels, Lexol, Black Magic, etc.)

Now if only I could find a good inexpensive large mat set for the Odyssey.

Thanks everyone for your input!

here they are (you can barely see them). The little ones for the back (not shown) are really cool too.

you can also see that black magic dashboard protectant (semi-gloss only please) works on the matts too :D

For special occasions or really nice weather they come out of the car, and are only used for daily commuting, rainy days and winter. I put them right over my BMW carpet mats. Also, I use Zaino Z16 tire dressing on them and they look great! Passangers complain though, because they are so slippery.....hehe

DK & YoSteve, thanks for the pics. As I said, I'll have to look at Target's stuff and decide between those and Wally World's.

DK...your bimmer is beeeeautiful. :up Bimmer has been the car of my dreams since living in Germany in mid 70s. My first choice is 500 series but will not be able to afford one for several more years when all kids are through college.

Happy Trails....

I love it too.....especially the color thanks to this forum that convinced me to get the steel grey over the topaz blue...........

That is a 3-series?? If I didn't know better I'd say that was the 7-series!! That is one plush interior. I remember in the 80s the 7 series had nice wood trim interiors, and the 3 series had a plain-jane look to it. How times have changed!

Hey DK....awesome interior.....let me ask you....what do you muse for the wood trim i see there....its the same as the one i have in my maixma....the "wood" in car trims isnt real wood right?...anyway....what and how do you care for yours.....again....beautiful!!
