Purple Power

The 3 series interior is not all that impressive unless you get the sport package, which includes the sportier and more adjustable seats (IMO).

The wood in the BMWs is real, but covered under a think acrylic layer. I am not sure what the trim is composed of in a Maxima. In Acura's TL and CL, it is simulated wood trim.

My Maxima GLE does not have real wood. Few cars do these days.

If you do not have real wood, then it is likely a plastic that can be wiped with a damp cloth (water, window cleaner). Since it is a coated plastic, it will not likely loose its luster except from being covered by dust or other dirt substances. Just avoid abrasives and hard rubbing.

as for the floor mats...what do you guys think....the weathertech paople make..those really deep grooved "vinyl'...ones that can supposedly hold up to 11/2 pints of fluid.....or the carpeting like ones....there about $75 for 2....they look great but....which is better....the solid one with all thr grroves....like the ones shown in a few pics...look great...you can treat them with 303 so i guess they would last alot longer than the more pricey carpeted ones???

It was worth getting for the seats and steering wheel alone, not too mention the suspension and 17" type 44 wheels.....

I put a thin layer of Z2 on my wood trim since it is coated in an acrylic. It scratches very easily I am careful to use non abrasive mild products and soft towels. Every few weeks I go over it with Z6 gloss enhancer to remove fingerprints and dust.......

I just purchased some Purple Power at Wally World. I was planning on using it to clean my tires and wheel wells, and maybe the engine bay. What are some of the other uses that you guys like it for?

I've used it diluted with brushes to clean exterior black plastic trim, underneath the license plate and inside the gas fill well.

I use it at 1:1 for extremly dirty and caked on dirt and grease in door jambs.

+1. It also works great as an engine degreaser, and a strong cleaner for textured wheel wells (used at the 1:1 ratio mentioned above).

I use it 10:1 as a presoak on bugs and tar before washing, at this ratio you don't have to worry about staining paint and trim (which I *have* seen when it is not diluted enough).

When you talk about the dilution ratio (ie. 10:1) do you mean 10 parts water to 1 part Purple Power?

Yes... it's highly concentrated. Many uses! Wheels, tires, bugs, engine bays, door jambs, brake dust, whitewalls, white letters, carpet cleaner, fabric cleaner, rubber floor mats, carpet floor mats, rubber, vinyl, plastic...... Your basic all purpose cleaner. Six bux a gallon and you dilute it 10:1! For tough jobs, I dilute 50/50 with water (white letter tires, etc.) I've never had to use it full strength.:cornut:

Bill,

For the textured wheel wells and engines, would you dilute it 50/50 as bigpoppa states?

Has this stuff changed formulas over the past 10-15 years? I watched a friend of mine strip single-stage paint down to metal with it (no agitation required), though this was probably almost 15 years ago.

I've been using it for about 5 years and I have:

a. Never used it full strength on anything.

b. Never used it on exterior paint for any reason.

I like it for wheels, tires, brake dust, engine bays and pad cleaning.

Bill,

Do you use it 50/50 on the tires and engine bay and 10/1 for wheels? Do you also use it at 10/1 for the pads?
