Products you dont like.

Products I did not like performance wise especially based upon expectations

  • ARO. I never get the results others get. I refused to throw it away so I will continue to use it at times.
  • Pinnacle soap-It did not seem to stand out in any category especially given the price
  • Several types of wheel brushes that I picked up while searching for THE wheel brush (settled on wool mitt for wheel face mostly and wheel woolies for barrels).

Products that just did not fit my process or style:

  • Low suds soaps like 1z Perls. 1z is fine as a soap except it just needs to be wiped down carefully to prevent streaking or spotting especially on glass. My opinion about Mystique is mixed.
  • Firehose nozzles - just do not like having to manually adjust the stream since I use two modes (stream and shower). I hope to solve that with a new pressure washer.

Yeah, ARO works but not for me like others say.

Still on my search for the wheel brush. Next up is the Griot's MF brush.

CG MicoFiber Wash+, but I'm guessing members already knew that.

I know I dont have alot of posts on here but been active on detailing forums since 2006 my home is autopia so dont think i am hacker using autozone products :-).

I have a TON of products some of my first purchases was poorboys because of price and the kit i purchased

All of them have not performed for me IMO natty blue is garbage wheel sealant was useless and very hard to apply. bold and brite didnt last a few days. wheel cleaner had no bite for dirty wheels.

the only thing was acceptable was natural look but didnt buy it again after first purchase

I love OPT but there polishes dont hold a hat to menz or megs

Funny....

have it and love it, great stuff and deff keep the wheels shiney and ALOT easier to clean

That your post about wheel sealent....I guess you should remember what you say about products

I used the Max Wax an 2 different vehicles and I ended up adding another coat of different wax over top of it both times to get a good slick finish. The paint was in ok shape on both before I started. Max Wax came off easy and went on well it just wasn't as slick as I thought it would be. I've treid several products that ended up with a much slicker finish. The product worked fine I just wasn't as impressed with it as other brands.

Did you like the looks or just interested solely in slickness?

Bunky, It looked good on the vehicles, but after cleaning one really good most wax do look good. I was just hoping for that really slick finish after reading some post about the Max Wax. It's a good wax just not as good for my liking.

Turtle Wax Ice- easy to use but not very durable for the price.
Mothers back to black- looks great until it rains
Black magic wax- looks good, durability above average. PITA to get off.

I got a PM from Forest at Mothers because I had also said I didn't like the Back To Black because of the running after a rain. Forest said that the reason for it is that it needs to be buffed off after it dries and that will cure the problem. So he is sending me a new bottle to try it again using his suggestion and we will see if it makes a difference.

Has anyone tried the Mother's wheel and wheel well brushes? Any opinions on those?

I have the tire brush, and I don't care for it very much. It's meant to curve with the tire, but given the widespread usage of extremely low profile tires on modern cars I find that it's often more cumbersome and awkward than useful.

You gotta love a vendor that steps up and offers help and to make it right. Yeah Mothers!

Dear rzatch & Friends

Forest did a very stand-up thing. I think I'll try a Mothers drying towel when I order again. I have the two Mothers wheel and tire brushes and love their handles and performance.

(I'm two-thirds finished with Meguiars High-Gloss Endurance gel and then I have a whole bottle of Ultima's Tire & Trim Gel. Then I want to try Dodo's Tyromania. It'll be more than a year before I finish those.)

I have the Mothers wheel and tire brushes, only used them twice but loved them. Wish I would have also bought the wheel well brush.

I tried 1Z premium cockpit detailer and it was like using water. It did nothing. Mothers back to black just runs down on to the paint. Mothers gold car wash soap suds lasts about 1 minute then you have a bucket of plain water. Where does the suds go???

Forrest is a stand up guy even if he is a Cardinals fan. I know he PMed me at one time about an issue I had with a Mothers product
