Product Testing - Trim: Adams, Optimum, Collinite, BlackWow

I missed it going through the 5 pages worth of info. How long did the Black Wow last - I've still got 3/4's of a bottle left.

It was still visible after a month. It was actually alive about as long as Adam's SVT.

I just used 845 on a Wrangler, which as you know has lots of black plastic. It seemed to have more of a matte finish with one coat. I applied another, let it cure for about 10 minutes, then buffed off and it seemed to have a bit more gloss/depth.

I'm interested in hearing how that turns out Jason. On my next test I may do 1 versus 2 coats to see if it's noticeably different.

On a separate note, I parked in the sun today and looking out of the dinning room window I could very distinctively see the line where the 845 is still going strong.

Just a few more pictures taken in the last few days that I finally got around to uploading. It is still very visible, but I can honestly say I would have refreshed it by now.

Thanks for the followups, I ordered some 845 and am excited to try it out versus the UTTG+ I bought a while ago. I love UTTG+ and how it looks/fast application, but it's a bit pricey.

Oldie but a Goldie. Was looking for this thread and just found it.

I`ve previously applied 845 to the trim of my Land Rover and it lasted almost 6 months easily.

I will try to do a test with 845 and Sonax PNS on trim as it starts to warm up. I`ve loved it on paint and trim, a little goes a long way.

I use Black Wow Pro and get a good 4-6 months. I read a different thread that suggested applying it, letting it soak in then buffing it and 24 hours later applying a second coat. I have been really pleased using it this way.

Wow, a thread this old and there are people are still learning about Collinite products. On another note my rear step bumper on the truck had some minor marring that I knew 845 would not take care of. Solution was 870 which is a cleaner wax ( leaves 885 behind). The step came out perfect and the applicator was black as the ace of spades which washed out with some cleaner. I waited a day then applied 845 over the 870.

I`m one of those that never saw this old thread. I have learned form it and thank Leadfootluke for all the time and effort involved to make such an informative thread. Also a nod to Accumulator for the initial discovery with 845 and trim. Thanks fellas.

I`ve been using Solution Finish and it has been holding up well. Now I`m thinking about layering 845 over the Solution Finish to add protection. It`s way cheaper than DLux.

Exactly what I was thinking. Usually I do SF then top with PERL or BF trim sealant. But if 845 gets that much durability on trim then that is amazing.

Thanks, good memory! Yeah, I used to prep with KAIO and then use either KSG or 845. I even used 476S and FK1000P on such surfaces, but those were a bit tricky...don`t try that at home, kids!

These days I usually prep with Griot`s Rubber Prep and use UTTG+, sometimes maintaining with Meguiar`s UQW/M156.

Great write up/follow up. I`ve never heard of this product, but definitely going to be ordering some now after reading this.

Yeah, after seeing the durability and how long it lasted after all that weather and washes, seems like a product I`ve been waiting for my whole life. It`s now on my master buy list.

So if you`re not using it anymore, you must have found something better, so what are you using and why ?
