Presidents Day Three Step

I was lucky enough to have Presidents Day off so I decided to do a thorough detailing session on my car.

I started on Saturday by using DACP on the upper half of my car (lower panels have semigloss clearcoat) using a PC at speed setting 5 and Meguiars Yellow Foam Pad. I have to say that this is the first time I've used DACP on the entire car and I was astounded with it's abilities to remove blemishes. With the right amount of time and effort I was able to remove 80% of my deeper clearcoat scratches!

After removing DACP and followed up with a hand application of Einzetts 1ZPP. This helped bring back the sharp reflections DACP dulled. It also added a bit of darkness to the paint.

MY LSP was NXT applied by hand.

I'm very pleased with the results and hopefully I can keep the car looking this way through the show season. Here's a picture of the car after a final wipedown with FD.

LOL Scott, your right I am definitely guilty of taking the same boring shots!:o

I'm actually planning a photo shoot with a buddy of mine who has a REAL camera and knows how to take photos. The deal is that I have to help him detail his car and he's going to teach my photography 101.

He's researched a few locations in San Diego that are used for calendar shots, hopefully within a couple of weeks we'll go take the shots.;)

Chris,

HOW I WISH!!! That car actually belonged to a Mercedesshop Forum member. That is an 04 and you car correct it has the new ceramic paint. It looks absolutely stunning in person and I can't even imagine how fast it must be.

I guess I'll settle for my 92 E, but maybe someday it will have a younger brother with 496HP as a stablemate.:)

Cool...

I still give props to the E500... It's definetly the forefather for the current AMG line!

Very nice detail BTW!!!

I can see the rim of your daily driver in the reflection off the Benz!!!:bow Sweet ride and awesome shine!!

Heh Heh, Scott if the rain stops by this weekend I'll post some pics of my car and 10 other 500's....oh and the beach will be in the background;) :D

If the rain persists I will have to wait until the following weekend to get some cool outdoor shots.

And BTW yes I do drive the car, just not in the rain.:D

About time y'all got some crummy weather. ;)

Cool and somewhat damp here for about a month straight. 3-4 weeks of highs averaging 5-20 degrees below normal aren't fun either.

I won't rub in the weather issue as I might be back on the right coast before year end depending on how things go in the next few months.

For now though I'll enjoy every minute of it.:)
