Porsche Hood/Optimum Polish

Did a quick detail on this Dr's very dirty and neglected black Boxster yesterday.

After the wash I used the LC orange pad on a few areas with the rotary and Optimum Polish. The whole car got polished with an LC white polishing pad and OCP.

Finished it out with OCP again and my Cyclo and white pads. Sealed with OCW.

A tip- OCP is very versatile so it can be used to level paint and also finish out paint. The aggressiveness depends on the pad used and the speed used. OCP can be used well by hand and orbital but it really performs best when used with a rotary.

Because of its high lubrication properties OCP doesn't break down like other polishes you may have used. OCP leaves behind a residue but it is easily removed if you go over that area with some OCW, plus you'll be sealing the area at the same time.

Here is a picture of the hood BEFORE - The hood is very neglected, rock chips and such

Here are 2 AFTER's - I tried to get them in as much direct sun as possible.

Nice job Anthony :xyxthumbs

Are there fillers in the Optimum?? Reminds me of #80 Speed Glaze since you can vary the result you are trying to achieve by adjusting the pad level. The Optimum sounds very versatile.

The idea of a durable spray wax is awesome! Talk about a time saver. How has durability or you been in your climate and washing scenarios? Any updates?

Thanks. Happy Easter :up

And thank you to you all also and Happy Easter as well :)

There are no fillers in OCP and I use the OCW a bit different from most. All of my weeklys get a wipe down with OCW after each wash. What I have found by doing this is that the cars are easier to wash, they are constantly protected, they have great gloss as OCW is layerable and my clients have complimented me on their cars appearance because people have complimented them...or rather their cars.

One spray from my bottle will cover the front deck lid of a Porsche so about 7 or 8 sprays will do the whole thing.

I hand rubbed this Porsche GT Carrera out with Optimum then sealed it with ShoKar twins. I had mistakenly stated elsewhere that I used OCW on it, I am correcting my stupid self. I am going back tomorrow (today actually) and clean it up once more. If they allow me I'll take it outside and get better pictures.

Back in January Ron helped me detail several new 05 Boxsters and Boxter S's. Here is what they looked like when they came off the trucks.

After washing them, removing adhesives and seat covers we polished them with OCP and sealed them with OCW.

That GT is gorgeous!

Is that a Porsche dealership you do work for?

Hello over there across the pond!

I don't work for them in a regular sense but they do call me when they get cars like this or when a customer is seeking detail work.

They don't really trust their "detail" guys much, especially on a $440k car:shocked

Happy Easter,

Anthony

I don't know about Anthony, but DavidB just recently drove a Carrera GT and said it was just short of being unreal.

great work, Anthony.

I'm loving all the cars in shot. Anytime you can sneak one out, and ship across the pond, let me know lol

Anthony-

Saw you over at Rennlist. It's good to finally see a professional giving some advice. Did you pick up a p-car or are you just sticking with the detailing advice? Cars look awesome!

FLAWLESS!

I would absolutely love to do a GT :drool.

Anthony: Compared to Menzerna, where would you say the cut level is on the Optimum polish?

When you have a car like that, you call the best there is. Your work is always amazing. Whenever I am online, I will usually search for your threads because I'm always blown away by the caliber of cars that you do and the amazing work you put out. Another great job man.

Very nice Anthony. You have been a big influence on this polish which I gave a try on my dad's car today. I just did a hood and fender with a polishing pad and PC, I can't wait to do the whole car tomorrow using OCP and OCW! I was very impressed with the results of the OCP.

Anthony, if I may ask a question. When using the OCP, do you wipe off the polish then spray on the OCW? Or do you leave the polish on the surface and spray on the OCW, then remove the polish and the OCW at the same time? Thanks :D

I would say they are about the same but the Menzerna IP seems to cut quicker. The OCP in the end will give you better results, less mess and more versatile.

And thanks for the :up
