I had to mention my favorite ones also.....
ABSOLULETY LOVE
- Collinite 845 IW: If you read my review in the autopia's reviews section, you can get my feelings there. If I could have one and only one LSP for all needs, this is the one to have. Very shiny, almost as reflective as a sealant, decent depth having carnauba, very easy to apply and remove, a little goes a long way and excellent durability (one of the top 5 in durability. My personal experiences show that only GLARE, the Z, KSG and 845's sibling 476S can outlast it. Anything else will have a stroke before making the IW sweat)
- Mothers Reflections paint trio (advanced car wax, top coat and spray wax) Arguably the best paint combo available. Only weak side is the durability (3 months) No, they are not NXT weak, but won't scare the Collinites. Advanced car wax is arguably the best looking pure synthetic in a dark color. No other pure synthetic looks closer to the carnauba look than mother reflections advanced car wax.
Top coat looks as deep as the best carnaubas because it has carnauba. The best synthetic / carnauba blend available. Top coat is what EX always wanted to be.
Spray wax is the weakest one of the siblings, as it is not easier to remove than the other 2. However, stop comparing it with its exceptional siblings and against its competition it shines (literally) Very easy to apply and remove, great durability for a booster (almost 4 weeks) and killer look. Better than several other spray waxes that enjoy the hype....
The trio is a true boutique killer
- Rotary and PC combo: The PC with 4" pads can correct many defects. When it can't, use the big gun. My best purchases so far :up
- Mothers Reflections tire care The most I use it, the more I like it. Tires looks "factory black". Clean wells, and reflections tire care in the tires will get you the closest to the appearance of new car.... My favorite product as far as smell, doesn't sling, lasts a few weeks. Winner here, and another boutique killer here. In fact, in a blind test this will beat everything.
REALLY LIKE
- 4" pads: Size maters, and in some cases smaller is better. If you only have a PC and don't want to spend one hour per panel, 4 pads are the only way. Sonus SFX the best ones in my opinion.
- Microfiber towels: The difference is in the fiber.... how true. Light years ahead of cotton. Unlike many other products, the towels we praise are all excellent (autopia - sonus, excel, pakshak)
- Mothers FX Synwax and spray wax: Did you say shine? Someone in the other thread complained about it being too shiny. He is right. This is the one to use to bring white or silver to life. Very easy to apply or remove, nice cologne smell (both mother trademarks) decent durability and arguably the shiniest and most reflective sealant available (that includes Z2 pro, EX-P and UPP)
FX Spray wax leaves a finish as shiny as Synwax, and it is the easiest spray wax to apply and remove.
- Mothers FX tire shine: At the level of the best boutique products, and without reflections tire care this would be my main one. Very easy to apply and remove, decent smell, good durability and great look, shiny but not oily
- GLARE liquiclay: Excellent cleaning power. It will not replace conventional claying, but as supplement you can't beat it. Use it before the clay bar to take out most of the cr@p. Directions, however, are wrong. DO NOT use with terry or you will swirls. A foam applicator or finishing pad is what it needs.
- Turtle Wax Platinum Ultra Gloss wax: As Bence said, probably the surprise of the year. If you use it as one step, it won't do much. Use it as LSP the way true autopians do (paint properly prepared, cleaned and polished) and it has looks that rival the best carnaubas. Very easy to apply and remove, killer deep look. Low durability, and it stains trim. Get durability up and this is a winner.
- GLARE spider swirl remover: Supposed to only fill the swirls, this stuff has some serious swirl removal capability. Its performance is impressive because has some abbrasive power coupled with serious filling ability. Supposed to fill only, it also polishes.
LIKE, but can live without
- GLARE Polish: It won't last 5 years as promised, but 7-8 months is feasible. BurlyQ described its shine as sterile. He has a point. It looks as claimed: "sugared apple coat" Not very easy to apply, but if you want shine and durability this one fits the bill nicely. Expensive, but worth the money in my eyes.
- Stoners invisible glass: I thought this one was hyped, until I tried it. It leaves the glass clearer than any other. Decent claning power, and it won't strike. NXT and E1 20/20 may be arguably better rounded overall, Mothers has more cleaning power, but if you want the glass to look as close as if it wasn't there (invisible) Stoners is your best bet.
- Sonüs Cockpit detailer: It cleans, and it leaves the factory matte finish promised, but looks too cloudy on the trim. Uninspiring smell.
- Mothers powerpolish: Another product that makes you socially lower if you admit you like it.... However, this is one excellent polish. As aggresive as your pad, it can take out bad swirls without too much effort. Very very easy to use. A perfect example of the great all-in-one new polishes. Leaves very nice gloss. Its only drawback is the amount of oils (pay attention, I said oild not fillers. It contains no fillers,) Its oils are for workability only, it has alot, hence you can work it forever. The sad part is cleaning the pads has to be done right after you finish. My favorite polish overall, but there many good polishes.
