Poorboy's Blue Natty's.

Wow, since when did people get on the Poorboy's hate wagon?

I don't get some of these posts, have I missed some discussions lately and suddenly Poorboy's is no longer well thought of?

This is really weird, but I guess everyone can have an opinion!

I am certainly not "hating" on Poorboy's. I have and use some of their products (and like them). It was just a question.

Don't take things so personally :)

I really don't know I just figured he could come up with a new name if it was a new wax.

Marketing is an interesting game. So much deception in the world causes cynical people...just my cynical side coming out.
Totally agree.

I think you answered your own question. Why come up with a new name? The Natty's Wax name is well established and very highly thought off. It's great marketing to be able to play off the success of one, especially when they are so similar. It would be different if one was a synthetic sealant and the other was a carnuaba based wax, but that's not the case here.:)

I think you've made it pretty clear on your stance of Poor Boys. It might be better to take a less biased approach as this is a great forum as long as people keep things in perspective. Apologies are wonderful if meant, but a follow up post like this, only clouds the feeling if it was or not. No disrespect intended , but just an observation.

So you are saying Pinnacle should have named their waxes Pinnacle Signature and Pinnacle Signature 2 or Pinnacle Signature White?

I certainly don't think "Natty's" is anymore known or recognized than "Poorboy's."

Like I said, this isn't any big deal...it was just a question. Without questions, everyone would be the exact same.

Has Steve done anything to cause distrust with you guys? His own words:

O4Cobra,

Unfortunately, a couple of people have jumped onto the bandwagon of believing the SSRs are just relabeled polishes from Chemical Guys. This belief is based on only product color and description, with zero facts to back it up or even personal experience. And of course, due to human nature (I like to think), the cynicism appears to have been carried over to other Poorboy's products.

:xyxthumbs completely agree with you...

Steve has not done anything to cause distrust with me, but if I took every manufacturer's word as gospel, everything would have the best shine, last the longest, apply/remove the easiest, etc.

It's just important to remember that *every* manufacturer is selling/marketing their products. The goal is to spark sales.

*Again, this is nothing against Poorboy's but just an observation and question*

:):)

You buy products that fit a need. If they live up to manufacturers' claims, then you will continue to buy and use them. If they don't, you won't.

Psychological marketing can be a powerful tool for ANY car care product manufacturer.

Oh no I'm not taking them personally, I was just wondering what I have missed. Has this stuff been discussed recently? I had heard rumors of the Adam's stuff but not Poorboy's.

BTW, I went to the CG site!

Even if they are CG products, it's his variations that are making his products so good!:nixweiss

Yes, there have been a few extensive discussions concerning product relabeling with Poorboy's, Adam's, and other products. It's something that happens a great deal in this industry. Many companies do it...some with changes, some without.

Again great post.

I dont hate PBs some of my favorite most used products are PBs, the spray and wipe, spray and gloss, SSR2.5(which IMHO I believe is CGs relabled and am testing this weekend when my CGs gets here today) and EX-P. That is good stuff. The blue to me just seemed like a marketing ploy. End of discussion, these are my thoughts. And just to keep the peace unless anyone directs a specific question to me in this thread I wont respond anymore. Not my intent to cause unbalence in the force.

Meh CG or not, who cares. I haven't had a problem with any PB products. In fact, I've ordered some Blue Natty's.

Also got some Max Wax on the way so it might be a nice comparison in the works.

Same here. They are nice products. I got some Max Wax yesterday and used it. It seems to be very similar to Natty's and Pinnacle Souveran. They even smell alike.

No one should take anyones word about their poduct, but when they have a track record of their products doing what they say they will do, then it becomes easier to take their word for it.

Poorboy's has never let anyone down, why would they start now?

Marketing? Blah, to who? A few hundred detailiing geeks, lmao, please, he's not going to be buying a new Bently anytime soon from us....

His post and presentation was casual," here is some blue natty;s guys, check it out. "Thats about it.

Autopia has in recent months been real negative, and people on other sites are talking about it.

I think if we chill out a little bit, a product will get some hands on around here, and soon enough, everyone will know how it is.

Does anyone really think a new product can be made that will make people hyperventilate over it? I doubt it. Its just wax.

Very true. We would all be using LustreLab LXR ( http://www.lustrelab.com/ ) if we could believe EVERYTHING we hear and read. :chuckle:
