Poor man's garage!

Hi Guys,
I call this the "Poor Man's Garage" since it only cost roughly $600 to do. This 3-car garage was already sheetrocked and sanded, so I added the following:

~Titanium Silver paint to the walls, ceiling
~Indoor/outdoor heavy duty carpeting to two stalls, and grey cement floor paint to the 3rd stall (This is where the lawn tractor sits)
~Florescent replacements for the incadescent bulbs (4 total)
~Car Matts that absorb water or oil (poly-plastic backing, no skid)
~Fire Extinguisher, wall mounted.
~Smoke Alarm
~2 heater/fans from Home Depot to keep the temperture comfortable in the winter (we have mild winters, mid 40's in Seattle)

We also use it for my wifes "Hen parties", shes a "Stamping up!" Demonstrator. Makes a nice play room for those rainy days for the kids too.

Enjoy!

Ha, I was gonna comment on the kids cars, too! I bet they have car mats, and cool looking set ups just like Dad!

You made $600 bucks go a long way! Pretty slick! Nice job. Like the Bimmer. Nice wheels!

I would have to wash my car every day of winter before I put it in that garage.

Really nice though, I like the gray carpet.

Do you think that the carpet and the mats will hold the water from the rain okay? i.e. what is the plan for water that gets into the garage?

Carpet never gets wet to affect it. The car matts absorb all the rainwater that comes off the car, and actually hang over the carpet edge stripping (which is 2" inside the garage door seal) and water inside those tends to evaporate rather quickly, even in our humid Washingtion state winters! The backing of those matts is plastic, but some funky kind of plastic which avoids it from slipping, though you don't want to "turn" the steering wheel when parked on it, it will bunch up.

Here's the link for the carmatts:

I was skeptical when I first got them, rather thin...but after 6 months of owning them, in the thick of our harsh raining weather, they get a BIG :xyxthumbs

Edit: The cost of the matts (roughly $180 for two stalls) was not part of the $600 I spent, they were extra.
