I'd get the MB's R class in silver. Tons of space and very different looking. Or, Porsche Cayenne SUV.

I use to use my 97 Vette(back in 97) to jocky cars back and forth to dealerships. I remember getting me and 3 others inside that thing at times. Very tight squeeze!!! It turned heads and got good mileage too.

Really if it was me, i would find a straight 6 panel van and letter it up really nice with some bold graphics and simple logo.



A straight 6 is going to last forever, you get your write off.
 
If you want the maximum bling factor, than no doubt an H2 or new Escalade would be the way to go. However, the gas prices aren't going to stay low forever, and with the Escalade getting about 15 mpg and the H2 getting around 11, those won't be very economical. If it were *me*, I would look into the new Honda Ridgeline trucks. They have style and class(for a truck), they aren't seen every day, so they would turn a few heads, and it would have enough room to haul all of your stuff in.

Maybe you could go w/ a del sol... its a 2 seater civic w/ removable roof.



I've got my DD which is a del sol... you'd be surprised how much that trunk can hold.

Thinking about it, it really wouldn't be too bad. Trunk would hold about everything but a large vac or water tank (which you could put in the bed), and with the back seats folded up, there's tons of room in the back. So you could carry almost everything 'hidden'. And with the swing-out tailgate, it's a lot easier to get into the trunk or bed w/o having to reach over the tailgate. It's rare that I have to climb in the bed. Decent mileage (about 20), and qualifies for a 179 deduction. Find out you need a trailer? Slap a hitch on it.



And not to offend anyone, but as a consumer (and not a pro), I would have a higher impression of a mobile detailer if they showed up in a van, truck, etc. (work vehicle) than in a car. I know it means absolutely nothing about the quality of the work, or even the professionalism, but there is a definite difference in perception. Same thing would apply for any type of mobile service professional I would hire - plumber, electrician, carpet cleaner, etc.

once you get the client base and a good rep some of these guys are looking at 60 - 100+ dollars an hr.



Of course starting out you should never try to shoot lower then 25 dollars an hr.

$60-$100 per hour is a decent range when doing and pricing out work, but how many mobil guys are making $9000-$16,000 per month in gross sales continuously? Not many, if any. It doesn't take much to be able to afford a $600-$900 car payment doing this work full time.

yeah...but then again im a huge fan of used cars under 10gs that are unique
 
I realize this post is old, but IMO the best way to command attention from a business vehicle is to lift it. There are ways to make a business truck look classy and expensive. My truck is my DD and my business vehicle and I have it slightly modified with altezza tail lights, 2" lift, and soon a nicer exhaust. When I keep it well detailed, I get a lot of attention from my truck alone, which seems odd to me because I get as much attention as I did with my old truck on 37" boggers:

Another idea which Id like to try is using a classic truck or panel van. Maybe a 36 Chevy in cherry red. That would definitly give a unique image... esp when it is detailed

Both really clean looking stock trucks with a lot of room for people or products.
 
From what I hear Chevrolet is going to gome out with an HHR Panel truck to use for small business. Its a head turner as they are fairly new, cheap and strange looking.



Personally depending on demand of my detailing come spring I may be purchasing a FJ crusier 4wd 6spd as the detailing rig, or the new mazdaspeed 3. I am getting tired of having to haul everything around in my G35 ( I am the king of Tetris when it comes to packing my car for a detail). The two 10x10 tents that I use are making harder and harder to load the car.

Hmm, what about a Subby Imperza wagon(N/A model). If you want to fly, get the STi SpecB model ;) Nah just playing with ya.



The Toyaduh FJ might work okay for you.
