Did this XJR over the weekend for a client who traded the car in today for something new. Since he was getting rid of it he wanted me to just tune it up a bit (his ex-wife has had the car the last several months and ran it through car washes) so I took it home and it gave me a chance to mess around with a few products.
I used both Poorboys 2.5, the new version of SSR 2, and Hi-Temps Medium Cut and my rotary. I used both with a white LC polishing pad and both at about 1200 rpm's
As expected they both did a great job. The 2.5 may have been slightly milder than the MC but the MC also dusted up slightly more than the 2.5 but not enough to be a real problem. I can't really recall which panels got the 2.5 treatment or the MC treatment but after either one of those I went over it with FP on my cyclo and then Hi-Temps Poly Spray to seal.
I used also DACP on a panel but saw no real big difference between it and the other 2.
I have a few BEFORE and "Almost AFTER" pics.....It was getting rather late by the time I was able to wax it so it would have been too dark to take pics. So I apologize for that....I also did the interior but that was pretty clean, just some dirty seats and lots of dog hair!
First pic is of the drivers door panel after being cleaned and then using FP and Plexus on the wood
