OptiSeal @ 8 weeks on Porsche Turbo

I hope you are including the beta testers of a certain product line who really hyped up a product earlier this year....

A lot of people here receive products to try, including me. When I am reviewing a product that I got free, I mention it. If the product is crap though, why would anyone hype it for more free crap?

I'm not sure what line you're talking about, I assume the majority of the people guilty of what i suggested have already been banned. The only beta sample I took part in was Ultima, we DID pay for shipping so I don't really count that. The entire line is good as far as I'm concerned, nothing wrong with being honest. Although I didn't like applying the tire seal to tires, I prefer water based applications.

You say the entire line is good but I could easily say the entire line is bad. Is there any way to tell who is being Honest?

I've had great results with Opti-Seal. My car is garaged 99.9% of the time (home + work) and I only wash with ONR. This may be the reason it works so well... i dunno.

This is also my first black METALLIC vehicle and I can't say I totally appreciate the way it looks after I do a complete detail. I much prefer my black Nissan paint, but I don't use Opti-Seal on it.

So, I basically use Opti-Seal because I have a black Metallic paint and I don't want to mute the large amount of flake present, however I am going to add some Collinite for winter protection here in about 2 hours. Looking forward to the results.

P.S. I probably won't buy anymore Opti-Seal.... in 10 years.

Reputation at this point is the only thing that solidifies a review or opinion of a product. I didnt care for Ultima. Just did not give me what I wanted. OS also did not do much for me. I use it still on some client cars but nothing of my own except on rims.

J.J....I have a Black Mica 3 as well. I REALLY like the way Opti looks on it. The best part is, if you want something a little different, throw some OCW on it. I've had a few issues with streaking, but using ONR at QD strength took care of it. Used the QD about 6 hours after applying.

Stuff cures quick, looks great, lasts, and most of all is EASY. If it were just easy, I wouldn't love it so much, but it looks great.

Out of the main 3 WOWOs ZCS, UPGP, and OS UPGP was by far the easiest to apply.

You confuse me to no end. You tell me that you can't apply it without streaking. Your post above makes it seem like you don't have the product any longer but your post in another thread makes it seem as though you're still using it(PGP). Which is it????

Once you get the hang of it, OS is really easy to apply. We've had better luck with a MF applicator than the yellow foam ones. And yes, it looks pretty good. Pretty, pretty good. We haven't tried PGP yet, but we're anxious to.

countrysquire,

Do you feel like you waste a lot of product because it's soaks up into the MF applicator more than foam? I haven't tested it but that's just what came to my head when I thought of it. Not sure if it's even a noticeable amount.

Not really, all you can do is consider the source, if you said the lineup was bad I/many others would question why you say that, and then we would troubleshoot the issues you're having, 9 times out of ten it's user error.

I might have to try that at some point. DOes it mute the flake at all?

I've never had difficulty applying OS. I use about 1 squirt per panel and it does the rest. Like I said before, I'm trying to get accustomed to the appearance of SEALED METALLIC paint VS the warmth and depth of the black nuba'd paint I've been detailing for so long.

Maybe a little, but it goes SO far that I can't see it as an issue.

No I am not still using it. It did not give me the look that I wanted. I did have problems with it streaking but the application of it was the easiest of the three. It did not need to be worked into the paint like ZCS or OS. It was truly WOWO. I apologize for the confusion Robert.

As far as looks I like both CS & OS. I am going to buy Ultima soon.

As far as durability OS is good but CS is outstanding in my testing. I have yet to find a more durable line than Zaino. ONR works well with both as does ONE.

Cool, thanks! I like using MF applicators so I'll give it a shot.

UPGP comes with a gignormous MF pad for application and it is really hard to tell if the pad is primed or not, so I've ended up grossly over-applying it and after the hour cure time, I have several areas to buff off. I'm going to get some more Meguiars foam hand pads to see how they work with UPGP.

I uses the Meguiars foam pads with OS and Z-CS and have no streaking issues at all. Both products dry in seconds.

I never had a problem of streaking issues with OS and Z-CS when i use meg's foam pads....................:usa
