Optimum Spray Wax, opinions on it?

Scott, I'm using the new version of OCW; It smells of bubblegum :). Got it from Properautocare a few weeks ago.

If it smells like bubble gun, you have the Instant Detailer, not OCW.

My mistake, Scott. I just went to smell my OCW, and it smells like Pina Colada.

I also have OID, which, by comparison, smells like bubble gum :2thumbs:.

With both items, I have some difficulty in removal and with residual streaks. Moreso a problem with OCW; I'll come back the next day and see streaks that weren't initially apparent, and these streaks are quite difficult to remove when I find them: the day after using OCW.

To me, both provide an equally glossy and great appearance, but the ease of removal isn't as...easy as other sprays I've used. I generally use 2 spritz per panel. Wipe in slow, overlapping long zigzags, then flip the MF over to the dryer side, at which point the MF glides across the paint more easily.

Nonetheless, ONR, OID, and OCW are still staples for my daily driver!

Kind of hard to say what the problem is because I haven't had any with either. Maybe the higher humidity in your area perhaps? :nixweiss

It wouldn't be much of a humidity problem for me, but I'm thinking it could be due to the fact that I usually work outdoors, under shade.

When you use OCW, is it usually inside a stall or a garage? Or is it outside, in the shade, like me?

Or even worse...outside in direct sunlight? :think2

I work with OCW & OID under the sun, around freezing temps, high and low humidity conditions and NEVER had any problems.

Although I don't spread it slow, just simple, speedy movements and done. I don't even flip the towel and use one light trigger pull for a smaller panel and up to 4 trigger pulls for a hood.

OID can streak a bit when it's too strong. Its performance depends quite a lot on water quality. Stretch it further and this will solve your problem. But I can't imagine what can be the streaking issue with OCW. Did yo experience the effect with just one bottle? Did you shake the product?

I've had streaking with other products that came from simply not buffing until completely dry. Werkstat AG comes to mind in this regard, but I've seen it with others.
