Optimum Spray Wax, opinions on it?

OCW is water based so it shouldn't negatively impact anything it is applied over.

how about if i were to put a coat of a nuba wax then a couple coats of ocw followed by another nuba, will the second nuba coat be worth it?

I think after you see how nice OCW looks you probably won't see a need to top it.

Thanks for the responses. Looks like I will be getting some of the OCW then. I need to order a few other things also with this, one being new microfibers. Do you all have any favorites that you like using for quick waxes like OCW?

I've never tried OCW, but I do use AquaWax, and have nothing but incredible things to say about it. Never streaks, good durability, augments look of vehicle, etc. :)

I love AW but it gives a sealant look. OCW is very similar to a good carnauba in looks.

I spray AW on after each wash before drying, and buff the beaded water off with the AW. Keeps my 845 well maintained.

Gett some plush MFs for OCW removal. AG has a great deal on BOGO right now.

you are probably right on that one. there is just something about using a tub of say, souveran, that makes me feel good inside hehe

I think OCW looks better, application is easier and cost is a boatload less, and the slickness from OCW > slickness from PS side by side on a non prepped surface....imagine if prepped!!!

Ok, you all have convinced me to try it. I have never used a spray wax before on an entire vehicle, except the closest thing to doing a whole car with is a quick detailer. That has been many years ago though. Can you all give me some tips on using it so I don't get smears and streaking everywhere? Do you all just lightly mist the entire area, or just do a couple larger pumps depending on the size? The OSW may have direction on this, but I haven't got it yet so I don't know. Just looking for some good advise if not

just go light mists. i use OCW like a quick detailer. although you may not need to use as much product as you think. just make sure you spread the wax out and buff with a separate towel than the one used to spread it initially.

I got my hands on a sample and I thought it looked awesome over CMW on my wife's torch red GT, really increased the durability of the CMW. I will certainly be ordering more.

Wonderful shine, but I find it difficult to remove. I'll come back for multiple passes with the MF and will sometimes still find streaks that I missed earlier. Same goes for OID, Optimum's spray detailer.

Even with the slight difficulty of removal of Optimum's spray wax and their spray detailer, I still use them :).

I actually had to use Zaino's spray detailer a couple weeks ago to remove the nasty (in this case, nasty) stubborn streaks on a C6 Vette that were created with Optimum's spray wax :chuckle:.

Michael-you using the original version or the new one? I find that the new version is as easy to use as a detail spray.

Ive used it for awhile, good slickness and durability for a spray.

I use it on occaision on the Medic Unit and Engine at my Station also.

Great stuff!

Well said! I use the 12 oz. pump spray bottle from AG for OCW and OID. I no longer have streaking problems.

Scott, I'm using the new version of OCW; It smells of bubblegum :). Got it from Properautocare a few weeks ago.
