Opinions on high end Zymol waxes and glazes?

Hey guys! I am new here. I just recently Purchased Zymol Carbon and the cleaner for about 58 dollars from a vendor who was at road america in elkhart lake, WI for the vintage races this past weekend. here are photos. Keep in mind, my car has 117 thousand miles of highway and hard driven miles on the original paint.

I love zymol. My car has turned into a weekend car for the most part now so hopefully the wear of the wax wont be as high as some say. The turnout was incredible though. Better than any wax I have ever used before. The HD cleaner was excellent as well. Nice chocloate scent.

Enjpy the photos. It really made my car look brand new again.

Heres the pics i took tonight

I can't believe all the people who say Zymol is a rip off, yet haven't even tried their high-end products. I've used Titanium (the lowest Estate Glaze they have) and also Vintage and Atlantique (The top two Estate Glazes). The results were nothing less than astounding! I am a Zymol buyer for life, until I find something better. If you haven't tried it, then don't post about it. It's kind of like me saying that the Enzo Ferrari sucks because I can't afford it. Look- if you don't want to spend big money to make your car look better than it ever has, then don't! That wax is not for you.

This is what Zymol did for my car: After using Atlantique the first time, people at work started asking why my car shined so much. The difference was THAT noticeable. I work at a business office where most people drive nice cars like BMW, Mercedes, Audi, etc. My car is a 1990 Honda CRX with original red paint. Yep, a 14 year old Honda. I got my hands on some Zymol Atlantique from a friend of mine and like I said, the results speak for themselves. One guy at work was so impressed with the look of my car, he told me he had to get some. He's asked me about it several times. Now my friend and I are saving up to buy the Vintage wax with lifetime refills. To us it is worth it. To those who don't want to spend the money to find out the difference, keep your mouths shut. You have no idea what you're talking about.

Just your first post, and already you've told us to "keep [our] mouths shut" if we haven't shelled out ludicrous money to try your favorite wax. Way to win friends and influence people . . . I just can't wait to go out and try some Zymol now! </sarcasm>

Yeah, that was my first post. That means i have no idea what I'm talking about right? Ok.

First, I posted the facts. It's 100% true. I talked about my first hand experience with the wax. The original post asked for opinions, and that was mine. My car is 14 years old with original paint. And people go out of their way to point out to me that my car looks amazing.

Second, I didn't say go out and buy my favorite wax. I don't care if you do or not. Yeah, it's my favorite, but you don't have to agree with me. All I said is if you haven't tried it, then don't knock it. I don't see what's wrong with that.

I just don't get what advantage I would have of using the SAAB wax on my 9-5. If I use Volvo wax, will it kill my paint? :)

Anyone know what the point of the make specific waxes is? Is the paint on my SAAB that much different than the paint used on other GM cars?

This picture was taken last weekend. The picture quality is not that great. It was taken with an older camera. It was taken at a CRX meet in Niagara Falls. I spent most of my time taking pictures of the OTHER cars. This is really the only one I got of my car. As soon as I can take a better high-rez pic, i'll post it. Thanks for looking: http://64.207.8.213/gallery/crxmeet/DSC03326

I'm not sure what other products you have tried and I'm not going to bash the products that you use. I will say that maybe you should be open to other products that are out there for a LOT LESS MONEY that will accomplish the same thing and last longer. S100 comes to mind for price and length of protection and in comparison, it can be had for about $15. It's pretty easy to apply and gives a look that is pretty much like what I see on the picture that you linked. It's only 15 bucks. Give it a shot and I'm pretty sure you will agree. I don't think the consensus here is that Zymol is junk, just that you can accomplish the same results with less money spent.

Oh yeah, if you take a look at my avatar, that's what S100 looks like on one of Honda's more recent but lower quality paint jobs. If you would like to see a bigger picture, let me know.

WOW this is getting really heated and let me throw in my 2 cents.Years ago I posted that I have a friend that's evey year he buys his uncle a expensive ZYMOL for his car collection.I always get down to his place on a Saturday morning and try a wax. This is going on about 7 years now (I am pushing for him to buy SWISSOL for christmas)I think I tried them all (they don't care they have a billion dollars)I SAID THIS ONCE IN A EARLIER THREAD,THESE ARE GOOD PRODUCTS BUT TO ME NOT WORTH THE MASSIVE PRICE DIFFERENCE THAT THEY COMMAND.WILL I SEE A 60X BETTER SHINE BETWEEN SOUVERN( OR TRADE SECRET)AGAINST ZYMOL I DIDN'TTHINK SO. GREAT PRODUCT GREAT SHINE IF YOU HAVE MONEY TO BURN GO FOR IT

Well, first of all I've used Zymol Vintage. In fact, I have zymol vintage. So instead of just seeing it on one car, I have seen it on several. I won't deny that it looks nice, but it is waaaaaaaay too expensive. I had a nice Autopian donate his jar to me. I would never pay that much for wax. Its just not worth it.

Zymol doesn't look that much better from other waxes to justify a several hundred dollar price tag. Nothing is worth that much that is just going to melt off in a couple weeks. Give me $15 dollar S100 any day of the week. The only reason Zymol costs $1500 bucks is because there are suckers out there who are going to be gullible enough to pay it. They make the $600 waxes for people who are just as gullible but not quite as loaded. Some people think that the most expensive thing must be the best. Its not always true. In fact, it is rarely true.

Second of all... Wax will not make 14 year old paint look that much better. Wax doesn't remove oxidation or swirls or anything else. Its like frosting on the cake. If the cake is made out of horse sh*t, then it doesn't matter how sweet the frosting is. I don't buy a word of your sucess story. Like I've said, I have Zymol Vintage and there is no way that it has any ability to restore a 14 year old red paint job. No wax is going to do that. It requires a paint cleaner to restore nasty paint. If it did appear to look better then its because of the oils. You could have poured Crisco on your car and had it look just as good. Why don't you give your mouth a break and do some research before you proclaim that Zymol is the best wax you have ever used when you haven't even tried the other products we are comparing it to, eh?

I know that I am new to this site but if I may add to this heated debate.for thr last 3years I have used Souvaran & Zymol(Concourse) still have some in the fridge next to the beer :D . last week I detailed my Black durango,I applied Zymol to 1 door and pinnacle souvaran to the next door to me the shine and depth are the same both attract dust, but Zymol does appear to have more of that slick feeling when you touch the paint. next week I will be comparing Zymol Concourse to Pinnacle souvaran, Trade secret,Swissol Onyx and Zaphire. I do not expect to see any difference between the $60 souvaran and all the other stuff I play with :nixweiss but to me it's a hobby and my pass time is to try new stuff, here is a list of what I have in my collection of brands, PS21, Pinnacle Souvaran,Blitz,Beauty secret pink and blue wax, Stuf wax,Griots paste and liquid,Trade secret, TOP black wax,Poor boys paste wax, TOP Pizzaz wax  . now if I only knew half of what most of you know I would put these products to good use on someone elses vehicle :scared

chicagoVTX you have a nice selection of waxes over there I have most of them .What is blue wax?.JUST LOVE THAT CARNUBA!

My only observation is that some may dismiss Zymol altogether but they do have some fine waxes. If you buy the sample kit you can get the high end waxes without spending much money at all. of course, there is a compelling argument that you can do 99% or 100% as well with far cheaper waxes but their product is great on show cars.

I personally have not found anything I like better than S100 at $15 a jar.

ChicagoVTX - I am impressed by your wax collection...care to list your favorites in order of excellence? Thanks.

Last night, I witnessed a comparison between Meguiars and Zymol products. This was done in a detailing centre that is also an authorised Zymol reseller.

Car: BMW 530i with original black paint.

Panel used: Entire was car was done in NXT + Megs No 26 after a lengthy surface prep.

Paint prep: Megs Diamond Cut, Megs DACP, Megs Speed Glaze, Megs Quick Detailer in the whole car.

Left side of hood: 1 x Megs NXT

1 x Megs No 26 Carnauba wax.

Megs Quick Detailer

Right side of hood: Zymol Vintage Carnauba Wax

Zymol's Field Glaze (similar to Megs Quick

Detailer).

Many people would consider it unfair and illogical to compare Megs with an exotic high-end wax such as Zymol Vintage. But let me enlighten you with the results.

Megs products were applied by Meg's trainer, sales manager, myself and a fellow BMW detailing enthusiast. Zymol products were applied by the detailing centre's personnel who use Zymol exclusively everyday.

Observation:

At a glance, there is no significant difference at all!!!

I find that shocking because I had very high expectations from Zymol. After all, Zymol costs so much more than Megs!

However, after a close and slow inspection, the Zymol side seemed to appear very slightly darker and that could given an impression of richness. Meguiar's side appeared a little more reflective, showed off the metallic flakes better but not as dark. The reflection of the overhead gas-discharge lights in the detailing bay were slightly crisper than Zymol's reflections. Both felt equally as slick.

I was surprised because I expected such an expensive high-end Zymol product to totally thrash Meguairs outright and impress with a wet look, deep gloss. However, it appeared the same!!! So, I can safely say that Meguiars products can "hold itself" against more expensive and exotic waxes! Don't be conned by the exorbitant prices of certain brandnames and psyche yourself into believing that expensive inevitably means superiority.

Overall, I expected a much more pronounced wet and deep look from Megs and Zymol. Based on my experience in using Zaino, I am confident 2 layers of Z2+ZFX would have thrashed Megs and Zymol. Anyway, it depends on what results you're aiming to achieve. For me, the gloss in black paint is the 1st thing that catches my attention. Only then, will I look further and admire it's depth. Without a dazzling wet look with lots of reflections, the "wow" factor is just not there, especially with dark colours.

Comments, guys and gals???!

I totally agree that Swissol is THAT good.

Much better than Zymol. I have seen the results and it absolutely thrashes S100/P21S.
