ONR is great!

I used a grout sponge and ONR last winter and the winter before. Last summer I used a foamgun, but this summer I'm inclined to stay with ONR. Maybe foamgun and rinse first, then pull into the garage for ONR. That way I can wash on a sunny day and not worry about water spots (I pruned some branches last fall, so I'll have less shade this summer). Last winter I found that ONR extends the life of my LSP, and areas that were not waxed beaded water.

I get mine from Danase.

Got mine last week and I absolutely love it. For me and my job it is perfect. Since I work on the same collection all of the time I can wash a caar in ten minutes. Literally the guy can pull up in the driveway, go inside and when he comes back out the car is perfectly clean. The owner tends to drive the same car now since they are always clean. I love it because you don't have to completely wet down the whole car. Just do a panel at a time and move on.

I did make up a couple of QD strength bottles and did not like it as a QD. The towels grab too much when being wiped. But on the other hand it works great as a lube for clay.

I have a five gallon container left over from a different product. I mixed enough at wash strength and filled this up so I always have wash solution ready. Also I have done atleast ten washes with it and have barely touch the bottle. I will end up getting the gallon size, but for those that have not bought this product yet the 32oz bottle will last you a pretty good time.

10 minutes seems too fast.

You were right!!

I tried it. I was impressed. :)

Here is my opinion:

2) It will be harder to tell how well your LSP is holding up in terms of water beading/sheeting than using a regular wash.

:up

I wish someone would make a product like this "without" the protectant. 90% of the time I only use No-rinse products prior to a polishing session so this type of contamination is of no concern. I would like something that would clean and leave no protection behind when one chooses not to or using another brand of LSP.

Regular ONR/QEW for the daily drivers and no-wax containing ONR/QEW for the show cars/garage queens with specialty waxes/sealants already on-board.

Maybe there is already a product like this?

Well then it wouldn't work at all!

As I understand it, ONR works because of lubricants/surfactants that allow dirt to be removed without finishe damage - This ends up leaving a slick surface and resulting shine (not some additional wax like protectant)

footnote: I've been using ONR for a couple of years now when I first came her and learned of - REALLY GREAT STUFF! I most often use the coin op pay 'n spray to get heavy dirt off, then use ONR at QD level sprayed on and wiped off using a rinse bucket (gonna try the grout sponge because I sure have stained a lot of MF towels!)

Anyway, GREAT PRODUCT, hands down.

Takes me 40 minutes, though I can wash a car in 20 if I skip the wheels and door jambs. I may do this for a midweek wash, but my wheels and jambs need washed weekly minimum.

To me that's a good thing; I don't have to wax as often.

Just became an ONR convert today!

I've been reading about this stuff on these forums for a while now and finally took the plunge.

I tried it out on my parents PT Cruiser which I've only previously detailed (months ago) with KAIO and #21 with a follow up waxing not too long ago with 845IW. Today, I pulled out the ONR and WOW!! Great product!!

Although, I doubt it will completely replace washes for me.

All my details start with ONR... :)

It would seem to me that ONR is a God-send for pro detailers.

I agree. I found it to be faster than using a hose, but not that much faster.

I did it in about 35 minutes, and that was the first time I had used it. I would guess I will be able to shave off a few more minutes as I get more experience, but I will never be down to 10 minutes.

I can see 10 minutes to wash a car, but I am way more carful than that. I cannot see it as effecient to shave 10-20 min off my wash just to have to spend a whole weekend repolishing the paint.

I also clean the door jambs, tires wheels, etc when I wash a car.

I used ONR for the first time today and am really impressed.

I took a cruise to the wetlands around here, beautiful place, but the dirt road got my car filthy!! Decided to try ONR, because it was already starting to get dark and wanted to stay in my garage. Worked great, left it shining and didn't induce visible scratching.

I will probably keep to normal washing during love bug season, but once that ends, it will probably become my normal wash.

How does this stuff work exactly? Is it like a QD just spray on and wipe off with a MF towel? Or do you spray, work it in like a soap, wipe off with some trash MF/paper towels, then respray with QD?

go to youtube.com and type in " optimum no rinse " and you'll see some vids...

IMO I think the protection on ONR does not last that long. I do like how it leaves a nice glossy finish. Usually I would top Z-6 when the car is dry, to get that "Z" protection.

I actually like using ONR, and Z-6 as one of my favorite quick combos.

As for drying using ONR, I use 1 WW 16x24 towel to get the car completely dry. I think it helps when you wash the whole car first and then start drying.

I personally would never do that.

I do that because i'm in the garage away from the sun :)

I wash in the garage too, it's one of the main advantages to using ONR.

But what do you accomplish by washing the whole car before you start to dry?
