I decided to join my local chamber of commerce a few weeks ago. I thought it would be good business. I sent out flyers to the 155 business’s introducing myself and my services. So I get a call from the Roselle Fire Chief and he wanted me to detail his car, and today was the appointment. I picked up the Black Crown Vic (with 400 HP, same as the police cars) I start the car to get ready to detail the engine, I close the door, and Immediately when I shut the door, THE CAR LOCKS! My heart fell to my shoes. Their I am with the Chiefs car, motor running and the car is locked. Now what? I called the Roselle police and told them about the dilemma ( not saying who the car belonged to) and the police man came by in 5 minutes. He looks at the car and says, that car looks really familiar, yeh, I said, You won’t believe this. I tell him what happened and he breaks down in laughter. He opened the car in like 15 seconds with a slim jim. When I retuned the car the whole fire station knew about it. The only thing that saved faced for me was the car was perfect. I spent like 7 hours on the car, used 4 steps on the exterior alone. Two guys want me to detail their personal cars in 3 weeks which is my next opening. Gary
Moral of the story> never close door with motor running. or at least leave the window open.
