Old Wheel Weight Tape Residue

Trouble

What do you guys use to remove this junk and do you remove the wheels when doing so? If so, do you torque the wheels or just tighten and hope for the best

Thank you for your time

3M Adhesive Remover. If I can't get to it through the front I don't bother removing the wheel just for that. When I do remove wheels I usually just go by feel (worked in a tire shop and in my dad's garage for years so I have a lot of experience). Some wheels I am more cautious with and borrow a torque wrench. Either way it is recommended to re-torque after about 25 miles anyway, so I always recommend this to the customer to cover my a**.

There was a similar thread a week ago on this. 3M adhesive remover and WD40 were some of the products mentioned that did a good job.

Thanks for the tips guys! :yourrock

I know most of my customers wouldn't even notice the glue residue, but it drives me friggion NUTS if I don't remove it.....sometimes its just easier for me to remove the entire wheel and go at it that way instead of slicing my hands up trying to reach in
