NXT users, gather round...

One question, how come after I apply and NXT on a hot day and then remove it, it seems as if there is blotchiness all over the car? I don't know, it feels like my microfiber can't remove all the "oilyness" off the finish. Do any of you guys experience this?

NXT contains Meguiars trade secret oils and silicone oil. That's why the finish drops off after a couple washes too.

I'm not a fan of a dash mounted shifter, looks out of place..

Look at where the shifters are on Rally cars and on Touring cars. Makes shift to wheel faster. I owned one of these Civic SI's when they came out. I was working for Honda at the time. Best car I've ever owned......and I've owned 28.

I'm glad you like it.

28? Holy smoke!!!! I'm 35 and am only on my 4th...and that's counting my wife's cars.

Regarding NXT, I absolutely love it. It is so easy to apply and wipe off. I am putting it on with PC. I get a more even coat with the PC...however, I am getting better at putting it on evenly with a foam pad.

I agree with Justin (and others) that NXT does still bead well for 2-3 months. I got almost 3 months of beading with my last coat before I decided to reapply it. My only complaint is that the slickness disappears rather quickly...I absolutely love how slick NXT is after you first put it on. I actually get a thrill just sliding a mf towel over it to just feel the slickness.

To be exact, this issue has nothing to do with trade secret oils. Meguiars had a problem with NXT (liquid) and #21, where the emulsions were unstable and they couldn't form an even film on the surface. When the active ingredients are unable to cope with the given surface or conditions, they can not level well and leave a smeary, but movable film residue. This looks like an oily, patchy cloudiness, and it's disturbing especially on dark finishes.

I assume you are using NXT liquid from the defective batch. Meguiar's corrected the problem and they will replace it for you.

I was in the automotive business for 9 years. It would be like working for Meguiar's or any other company.......TEMPTATION!

That's a funky place to put a shifter. Is it an atuomatic or stick?

:doh You just asked me if my shifter is an automatic or a manual....of course it's a stick, 5spd. It's put there because most racing cars have the sequential gear shift lever raised up within like 3 inches of the wheel. It feels natural as well, but I'm still a fan of rowing the gears by your leg.

NXT smells bad? That's a first! NXT is one of the best-smelling products out there! I have never heard otherwise until today.

Slickness is gone, hopefully because it's dirty. Gonna apply another coat of #26 today. I've got a full tub of:

from when I just went by what the labels said (used to have a black car). It isn't bad, but I haven't really used it because it would tend to hologram pretty bad when I'd try to buff it off my black car. Should I try it on my silver and see how it goes? Or just stick to the 26?

Put a piece of tape down the middle of your hood. One side for #26 and one for the Turtle Platinum. Don't tell us which one.....I want to see if any here can even tell the difference.

Deal?

Justin, I just did what you said, and I honestly couldn't tell the difference whatsoever. However, the application and removal of the 26 was 2x as easy. If doing the whole car, there may be some noticeable diffs. I DID however apply NXT to all my wheels. Never before have I seen those suckers looking like mirrors. Besides the first time you properly wax your car, this was one of the most astounding things I've ever seen. The metallic was through the roof!

I just washed my car today for the first time since applying NXT, and most junk rinsed off by the hose before I even took the grout sponge to the surface of the car. It's been raining on and off for a week now, and the slickness is like it was just applied.

I didn't find it to be all that slick, but I DO notice a huge difference on my wheels (it didn't really give me the wet look I need for my silver).
