Not waxed for nearly two years, look what ONR can do!

That's the hardest part to get passed. It just seems *wrong*, and your head screams out "stop! What are you doing? Have you gone completely mental??" the whole time you're using it. You get passed it eventually. :)

Now about the sun.. you do live in the UK, right??? ;)

I read your old thread expressing the same feelings - I take it you got over the rational fear and stepped right in ;)

Going to also get some of those mega shaggy Eurow MF's to possibly try it with, or maybe a deep MF mitt, instead of the LW stuff I have now.

I have some grout sponges but that IS just a step too far right now :aww:

Those are the ones I use. One in the bucket, and two to dry with. Usually takes about five MF's for a complete ONR wash. Then I use some old yucky worn out MF's for the wheels.

thanks Supe :2thumbs:

at least I'll have some great MF's even if I decide not to go with ONR again...although hoping tha wont be the case :D

Picked up a few of those Detailers Choice MF sponges at BigLots for 2.00 a pop today. Not much nap to them but they are soft.

Interesting video...I've used ONR countless times and never just washed one panel at a time. Do the entire car with a grout sponge, (starting on horizontal panels first, then work my way down the verticals to the bottoms) spritz with a QD and dry with a WW towel.

Will say that my car never gets that filthy though.

After watching the video, tried the panel approach and seemed to take much longer--but I'm certainly not going to question the master--just another thought on the process...

One other thing--I pour the leftover ONR water from the first bucket into another designated only for tires/wheels and do them last. Works pretty well.

Thanks for taking the time to post it.

FYI on the microfiber sponges -- Target has them as well under the Vroom brand. One is microfiber on both sides and the other has the little microfiber fingers on one side.

Thanks for the vid, Scott. The more people do these videos, the easier it becomes to know how to correctly use ONR.

I read how people only use one full WW towel or a couple MF's for totally drying the car. I watched it occur as one of the guys here onr'd my car a few weeks ago with only one ww. Me? I still can't get it. It takes me half a dozen mf's or three ww's to dry with onr (I grout sponge it most of the time, and occasionally sheepskin mitt it, and once or twice early on I tried mf'ing it), otherwise I end up with spots/streaks. :nixweiss So it takes FOREVER.. unless I just leave the spots there and qd them away afterwards.

great informative videos Scott - thanks

never used ONR, but I just cant get my head around how that many passes over the panel back and forth, wont produce swirls from the dirt it is picking up

ONR has enough lubricity that you can clay with it at wash strength, so running towels over it while wash and drying don't cause any problems. You'd be stunned at how well ONR cleans every really dirty cars-but if it is caked in mud, you should pre-rinse it.

32 oz is enough to wash 32 cars, so the cost isn't as bad as you think. If you like it and buy it by the gallon, you save more.

One time around the car and done. Much faster for me, plus it is the only way to do it on dark cars in the sun.

I will do more than one panel at a time, but even when washing in the garage, I don't wash the whole car at once. I do the equivalent of two panels at a time. Works for me, and its certainly a lot faster than a traditional hose wash.

Do you only use 2 gallons of water? Ive only used ONR 3 times now but Ive been using 4 gallons and 2oz of onr.

2 gallons, one ounce. If the car is really dirty, I just change the solution out halfway through.

that is very impressive

Do you have any pics of cleaning wheels with ONR, or any posts that I cant seem to find with the millions that you have posted? haha... I am just trying to get a handle on how to handle the regular washers cars verses the neglected ones.

since this thread has been brought back I have a question.

How does everyone get the wheel wells clean with ONR?? I've tried the bug sprayer but a lot of the cars I work on are DD's and haven't been detailed in a while. I end up going through 2 sponges on the wells alone....3 different sponges for the wheels/wells.
