So I just found out that a friend runs a branch or franchise or whatever it is that sells the whole line of Megs...I want to stock up on a bunch of things to deatil with, but I am not 100% sure what to get.
Is there anything anyone knows that I should absolutely positively have? And things I should stay away from or just dont need?
We are going to be doing just autos, if that helps.
Lots of open ends in your post.
1. For your own use or are you going to be doing this for pay?
2. For hand use or will you have a machine.
3. If you have a machine, is it a rotary or a random orbital?
4. How serious are you about car care and how much time do you want to spend.
If it is just for your own use and you don't have at least a random orbital, you could do a good job with ColorX and NXT Tech Wax from Meguiar's consumer line.
If you will be using a PC, a swirl remover, a polish and a final wax/sealant would be what I would use.
Swirl remover:
If the swirls are severe, #83 DACP or #80 Speed Glaze.
If they aren't bad #82 Swirl Free Polish would work fine.
Polish:
If you use #80 or #82, that should be all you need.
Some people use #7 Show Car glaze, (which I never have any luck with) or #81 Hand Polish which does the same basic thing and is easy to work with.
Wax:
#26 Hi-Tech Yellow Wax is a good canauba wax.
#16 Past Wax is a good wax and preferred by many. It has been discontinued, but there is still some around.
Sealant:
#20 Polymer Sealant is good and they have jus recently come out with a #21 Sealant that seems to be good as well.
IMO, most Meguiar's products work good, but there is some overlap and you need to do some research to keep from buying a lot of products you won't need/use.
