First up, 2003 Maxima.

Belonging to a friend of mine, he just picked it up about a month ago. Overall, the car is in nice shape. A couple R.I.D.S. here and there and a severly pitted front bumper, but the rest came out great. My finals were:

-Z18 Clay

-Hi-Temp Extreme Cut/Optimum Polish (50/50) via rotary and LC Cutting Pad @ 1500rpm

-Blackfire Ceramiclear Finishing Polish via rotary and LC Finishing Pad @ 1200rpm

-Z6 wipedown

-Z5 Pro (ZFX'd) by hand

-Z16 x 2 on tires

-CD-2 Engine Detailer in wells

Next up, the Diesel Silverado.

104k on the clock, normal levels of dirt and tar, no big need for crazy polishing (as per customer's instructions). My finals were:

-Z18 Clay

-Klasse AIO (pre-VOC) by hand

-Z6 wipedown

-Z5 Pro (ZFX'd) by hand

-Z16 x 2 on tires/trim

-CD-2 Engine Detailer in wells

Z16 on the trim looks great!

Next up, the silver 4Runner. My finals were:

-Z18 Clay

-Klasse AIO (pre-VOC) by hand

-Z6 wipedown

-Z5 Pro (ZFX'd) by hand

-Z16 x 2 on tires

-CD-2 Engine Detailer in wells

Last up, 1986 Mustang.

Heavy swirling on an excellent repaint was the majority of the damage. Trim, glass, and interior were in great shape. The wheels were a little far gone. I was just prepping this car to sell (inquire via PM if interested). My finals were:

-Z18 Clay

-Hi-Temp Extreme Cut/Optimum Polish (50/50) via rotary and LC Cutting Pad @ 1500rpm x 2

-Blackfire Ceramiclear Finishing Polish via rotary and LC Finishing Pad @ 1200rpm

-Z6 wipedown

-Z5 Pro (ZFX'd) by hand

-Z16 x 2 on tires

-CD-2 Engine Detailer in wells

Beautiful work Sean. It seems you are a true Zaino zealot now ..... :getdown

Pat: In the endless (for many) pursuit of finding the "best" product/processes for the job, I have come to a point where for the past 15 or so details, I have used basically the same stuff. I have really found a nice mix to produce great results time and time again. Zaino has fit the niche in many areas, but please don't take my likings as zealousy...I'm trying to stray away from "Zaino is better than anything in the world".

(if I'm taking this wrong, I do apologize in advance :D))

Details look good but I do have a question or two. First, isn't Zaino a bit expensive to be using for customer details? Second and related, isn't CD-2 a bit of a waste and expensive to be using for wheel wells? I can't see using it myself.

Ben: I like to consider myself a more "boutique" operation.

Using the *best* products on the market denotes a higher cost, but also better results. If you notice, pretty much everything I use is about the most priciest on the market (not by choice). I find the products that give *me* the absolute most desirable results, use them, and if need be, adjust my prices accordingly.

Just for kicks, price per application, Z5 Pro is more than 4 times less than an application of Souveran, yet many still use it for their customers.

That's a good point; I've been using Souveran a lot lately, and cost per use is up there (in terms of other products). I understand what Sean is saying about being a "boutique" detailer too. It basically means you're one of the highest priced detailers in your area, but are worth it (or so we hope! :p)

What can I say about the details? Typically they are incredible. The Stangs paint looks so much better it's crazy.

Very nice details as always. How does Zaino working out $$$ wise? Seems to be more $$$

Nice work Sean.

Everytime I see you use the Blackfire Ceramiclear Polish, I know the results are going to be amazing. What are your thoughts on the stuff?

Kyle: It's really good stuff. Less is more. Sometimes it dusts if you work it a bit too far, but in the end, it's very similar to PO106FF. I still have to try them side-by-side (once I get a sample of 106). The finish it leaves is drop dead stunning.

If that Mustang is really an 86 whoever has it changed to the 87-93: aero nose, hood, side moldings, rear qtr windows.

What did the interior look like?
