NanoSkin towel

See now in this video, I get the value of the system on that kind of finish, of course following up with some kind of polish or a glaze. But I think the towel is going to get more mileage for my jobs.

As to the nano shine, while I get the whole "not to our standards" kind of thing, some folks really would not know or care about the extra hazing- just as long as the paint feels smoothe and has a lil shine to it. I can see Nanoshine beig useful in combo with a milder prep towel for the really express jobs. Definitely on my to-buy list in the very near future.

Yes, I am slowing becoming that hack I was meant to be :P

Mel was kind enough to let me listen in on a call the other day about the business of detailing and he made several very important points. One of which is this: Not everyone needs, wants, or can even appreciate the very best detailing we can do and for those people that kind of detail and its price is a waste of our effort, time and their money. Giving people what they want and good value for money at every price point is what professional detailing should be about. THANKS MEL!

Yesterday I received my first "Beta" test sample of the new "FINE GRADE" Nanoskin/Speedy Surface Prep Towel. Definitly a lighter in weight and less aggressive product, from what I understand its formula is at least 15% less aggressive that the original SSPT. On yesterdays testing I was able to smooth out and decontaminate some extremely soft billet aluminum on some custom Schott wheels. The new towel worked perfect, removed all the contaminants and no marring and we all know how soft billet can be.

Followed by some Silver Bullet

Here is a photo showing how well the Autoscrub pad works for heavly contoured areas, this is also the "Beta" Fine Grade sample of this pad. This is an extremely soft $30,000 custom PPG paint and no marring at well.......

Glad to see all the new products coming out. Never thought of using the pad as you are showing here.i like that. Plus thats a drop dead gorgeous Ford you are working on . Thanks for showing us whats in our future.

Very cool! I can't really tell from the pic you posted, but is there any noticeable difference in appearance between the fine grade towel and the aggressive one?

Also from a comparison standpoint, would you say the fine grade towel is more, or less aggressive than the fine grade pad (when used by hand)?

Looks like the new stuff is working great, and that Ford looks absolutely incredible!

Since this is still in its beta testing and R&D stages I want to hold off from any final comments. After working with the Autoscrub pad for a while it actually becomes extremely comfortable to use due to the nice foam core. Today I worked on a Silver 2009 Audi A5 and after a thorough wash I was able to completely Autoscrub the entire vehicle with the Fine Grade pad and d/a from start to finish in 15-20 minutes with "Shock". Paint was extremely smooth and shiny and for a Mini Detail this system saved a ton of time with dynamite results!

Today I worked with the Nanoskin Fine Grade Autoscrub pad which I am currently testing for the mfg using their new twin engine, twin tank, 45db extremely quiet Evergreen powerplant...using a pnuematic d/a and the Autoscrub pad makes it so easy for vehicle prep!

This has my interest piqued. I assume this is to be used with the evergreen tools. I have heard very little buzz on them. Is a preview thread in our future?

Hello everyone... I would like to say that as this product can be used a lot of times around why don't the seniors ask the manufacturers to make 1/4 sizes as well of the towel so that we home detailers can buy that and use that for 1/4th the price of the main nano towel. Plus this way we can buy one medium grade and one fine grade quarter size towel that will last for a long time for our personal vehicles.

Regards

I got my towel in the other day and used ONR on my Ram tailgate with additional marring on the paint. My dilution is pretty strong though, 1oz per 32oz in my Kwazar bottle. I would be interested in seeing what others use as a QD with the towel. I would really hate to be limited to using only 1 suggested lube. Understandable since the towel manufacturer also makes the lube for it.

Just use soap and water. After four cars, my towel still does not look "used". Rinse and then let dry. I just keep mine rolled in a ziplock bag.

So you've done 4 cars and so far you only needed to rinse them out with water? Also, does the towel get damaged if left on out in direct sunlight?

You aren't really rinsing "out" anything with these towels.... the working surface isn't absorbent, you're just cleaning it off after you're done.

Don't leave it out in direct sun (or use it in direct sun, for that matter). The rubber/polymer material will soften and could get rather melty.

For cleaning I suggest you just spray your Glide lightly over the towel and wipe dry with a MF towel or wash out in a bucket, ring out gently and dry. DO NOT fold polymer material onto itself, it is possible that it can become so sticky it will fuse to the other side. Leave flat to dry polymer suface up for the best results. Leaving it in a bag rolled up is ok, just make sure its breathable so it doesnt go afoul..

To those have asked about the compatability of the other products with the SSPT or the Autoscrub system, this will clarify....

ONR is made for Rinsess washing, it will marr using the products above. I have prepped over 45 vehicles with my same original towel with not one incident of marring has occurred using the products below.

Using a complete system is crucial in any situation, therefore after lots of testing I have come to the conclusion that the best results are achieved using the products below, they are proprietary of the system. In a way its like a chef baking in his kitchen, if a recipe asks for a specific ingredient and he uses a substitute, chances are the results will suffer.....

Nanoskin GLIDE is a water based silicone-free lubricant containing glycerin, foaming agents & small amount of surfactant.

It gives the AUTOSCRUB and SSPT application sufficient lubrication to increase its performance while the minor foaming agent suspends the contaminants like no other product on the market .

Nanoskin NANO SHOCK is a one step sealant which contains 2 different types of silicone. The design also helps the lubrication a lot, while at the same time creating an incredible shine and protection for your vehicles exterior.
