So you guys might have seen a C&B I posted a few weeks ago of my 07 Yaris Hatch. I just lowered it and did a small detail on the entire car; Meg's GC wash, PB's BB tire shine, Amzg Roll Off on wheels and a glass cleaning. That was yesterday, and even though the car is only a month old, it still has quite a bit of rail/brake dust on it from the delivery.
So today, I busted out all my new detailing products (I used to detail with a rotary, and this s my first PC). I ended up doing the following on just the hood and top part of the front bumper (wanted to do a test run and will follow up with the rest of the car later).
Clay with Four Stars and their Clay lubricant (do you guys find that claying ADDS marring to your paint? I sure did. am I pressing too hard? Way it seems is that with any black car, claying has to put some marring in???)
Wolfgang 6.5" white foam pad with Poor Boy's SSR1 (2 passes, even with my mild swirls, 1 pass with that light of a pad didn't do much, so I did a 2nd with more pressure and that did the trick, it removed about 90% of the marring)
Wolfgang gray finishing pad with PB's Polish with Carnauba (This stuff is amazing!)
2 coats of Natty's Blue Paste Wax
Let me just say that the NB is a amazing wax and went on soo easy and off even easier. And that smell! haha It made me want to taste it. :chuckle:
I was most impressed with the overall enhanced look the PwC gave and it was near impossible to work it more than a min or so, it dried so quickly.
Question on the SSR1.
-I read all these articles saying that the polish should be worked in for 3-5 min, but I was not having any trouble finishing a 2x2 area in 2-3 min with it drying fine. Is that ok? Also, I wasn't sure how much to put on the pad, so I did a 2-3" long "X" across the pad and lubricated it with a spray or two of the FS clay lubricant, is that also ok?
