My own personal Bubble...

So you guys might have seen a C&B I posted a few weeks ago of my 07 Yaris Hatch. I just lowered it and did a small detail on the entire car; Meg's GC wash, PB's BB tire shine, Amzg Roll Off on wheels and a glass cleaning. That was yesterday, and even though the car is only a month old, it still has quite a bit of rail/brake dust on it from the delivery.

So today, I busted out all my new detailing products (I used to detail with a rotary, and this s my first PC). I ended up doing the following on just the hood and top part of the front bumper (wanted to do a test run and will follow up with the rest of the car later).

Clay with Four Stars and their Clay lubricant (do you guys find that claying ADDS marring to your paint? I sure did. am I pressing too hard? Way it seems is that with any black car, claying has to put some marring in???)

Wolfgang 6.5" white foam pad with Poor Boy's SSR1 (2 passes, even with my mild swirls, 1 pass with that light of a pad didn't do much, so I did a 2nd with more pressure and that did the trick, it removed about 90% of the marring)

Wolfgang gray finishing pad with PB's Polish with Carnauba (This stuff is amazing!)

2 coats of Natty's Blue Paste Wax

Let me just say that the NB is a amazing wax and went on soo easy and off even easier. And that smell! haha It made me want to taste it. :chuckle:

I was most impressed with the overall enhanced look the PwC gave and it was near impossible to work it more than a min or so, it dried so quickly.

Question on the SSR1.

-I read all these articles saying that the polish should be worked in for 3-5 min, but I was not having any trouble finishing a 2x2 area in 2-3 min with it drying fine. Is that ok? Also, I wasn't sure how much to put on the pad, so I did a 2-3" long "X" across the pad and lubricated it with a spray or two of the FS clay lubricant, is that also ok?

Very nice! I love the metallic flake in the pictures. What kind of gas mileage do you get with the Yaris?

Over 40 at 65mph. Even with only 500 miles on it, I'm getting 32 avg in the city. I dig it, even with 105hp, it's peppy, course weighing 2200lbs has it's advantages...until I hit a SUV. :sadwavey: :bolt

Looks very nice!

A bit off-topic: May I ask what brand springs you lowered it on? and how does it ride when lowered? Im going to be lowering my 03 Echo (Vitz) soon.

Cheers

It's lowered on Tanabe DF's. They ride pretty nice so far.

Thanks for all the comments guys.

Yes I do, but I can't imagine polishing with all that grit in the paint. I won't clay without polishing after, and won't polish without claying first.

Great looking job!:bigups

Wow 32mpg! Thats nearly double my gas mileage for city driving. :bawling:

Beautiful!

I 100% agree. I've clayed numerous cars in the past, but most weren't black, so mine got a few light scratches from the clay bar. I found that it probably occurred because it was only 40 out so the clay was hard, and I tore off too small a piece, which got caked with that orange rail dust in no time. So I might have dragged a bit of the RD on the paint even though I did have a lot of clay lubricant on there. I'll try warming up the clay a bit and using a bit larger piece when I do the rest of the car.

Yeah, but just think, your car/truck probably has a nice tug to it, I have to rev this little 4 banger to go anywhere. :grinno:

thats clean man! what did you lower it with?

Tanabe DF210's, a claimed 1.8 drop front and rear, but ended up being more like 2"...it looks soo sweet compared to stock. It's really low in real life, not so much in pics. Problem is I already scraped the bottom engine plastic shield coming out of my driveway slowly. :sadpace:
