Larry, I haven't tried the new Mothers range yet, but from the feedback I read much of it is equal to any 'boutique' equivalent.
What did you have under it? What colour paint and what difference in look?
It was my GFs car and is a few months old...I haven't had a chance to do a full detail on it (SNOW!!!) and I didn't want to do a full detail because my sonus pads are on the way. But whatever wax Infiniti uses is what was on there.
But whatever wax they did use was almost all gone, it did not bead at all, shine was getting kinda dull, and the paint overall just felt very dry/gritty (I hit some of it with a clay bar because it just had to even though we just wanted to wash some crap off)
The color is pearl white (very nice) IMO what the FX detail spray did was make the surface very slick (not quite as slick as Z6 on a car that needs to be re-waxed), it also def added some depth and shine to the paint (made the pearl white look like milk)
I know my reaction of the cars appearance went from "ehhh it def needs to be polished and waxed" to "wow it looks real good except for the swirl makes"
I am going to do a full detail on her car in the next 2 weeks or so if the weather decides to agree with the time of year it is. My plan is:
Wash, clay
SSR1 (she has some very minor swirls, nothing to big and I would imagine this is what SSR1 is for, if not i'll jump to 2.5)
follow up with Klasse AIO for a little extra cleaning
Top it off with Zaino Z2 Pro
Finish it off with some Z6
Next time I try the FX spray wax will be for my mother's explorer which is in horrific shape:shocked it def needs 2.5 and the rest...except I am going to use Megs #26 followed by the FX QD/spray wax
I did a small panel on my mother's explorer yesterday with the stock PC pad and 2.5....Damn what a job it did, tore through a huge scuff mark, removed major swirling (obviously left minor swirling that looked similar to what my GF has thats why I assume SSR1 will be enough) and ripped though oxidation without a problem....the panel looks great, the rest of the car looks like crap still though
