metro MASTER BLASTER

This thread made me sell my AirForce Blaster and buy a Master Blaster. I hope it doesn't trip my circuit breakers. Anyway to tell???

Check to see what your sockets are rated for. Most are 15 amp, if they are you'll trip the breaker and have to reset it. In which case you'll need either a 20 amp socket or a step up transformer.

It may trip the breaker if there is another load on it at the same time.

Remember, the MB is only using 19 AMPS with both motors running. Short run times may never trip the breaker....unless it's already overloaded.

A breaker is designed to trip at 80% capacity. So, a 20 AMP will usually trip somewhere between 16 and 17 AMP load. An older breaker may trip sooner.

You should only operate the Master Blaster over 12 ga. wire, 20 AMP outlet, and 20 AMP breaker.

If I had one, I'd boost my circuit to a 25 AMP breaker, still using 12 ga wire and 20 AMP outlet.

The circuit is rated at 20 amp. There are 30 and 40 amp breakers, but the all seem to go to hard wired things. One of those things is the water heater, the wiring from it goes to this box:

Not sure if that would help or not. Anyway, I already ordered the MB. Hopefully its fine on the 20 amp.

It should work fine on a 20A circuits. For some it seems to work on a 15A circuit. It did not for me after running a few minutes.

You also need to know what other loads are on the circuit such as lights, garage refrigerators, etc. An electrician may have interior outlets on the same circuit if in a common wall. Usually most high current (20A and higher) appliances usually get dedicated circuits so there is no chance of accidental tripping due to additional loads.

And don't even think about putting it on the dedicated circuits. That's totally out of code. They are dedicated for a reason. ;)

The simple thing to do is have an electrician install a dedicated 20 AMP for garage. I have one 20 AMP and one 15 AMP on both garage walls, with GFCI. 20 AMP outlets are visually different than a 15 AMP outlet. If you can afford it, that's the way to go.

O god, shoot me now! do it! Quick!

Before I get a chance to harm another innocent car! :D

In all seriousness the blower I have is about 10% more powerfull than the MB but it's just so much heavier and a pita to dry with. I use it on the wheels and lower parts but the MB for the upper half. The MB is designed for detailing, leaf blower... not so much.
