metro MASTER BLASTER

i don't use mine everytime i clean my car but when i do a soap and water wash i'll usually use it. one of the best investments i've made as the less i touch my paint the less of a chance of scratching it....

Bobby, You should really consider getting one. You will love it.

I saved up for a year to get mine. And I got it on a nice Christmas sale....

Oh there's no doubt about that Troy! :bigups :bigups :bigups

The Metro Master Blaster is definitely on my list of wants and someday I will have one and will love it like everyone else.....:bigups

There is a 4hp vac-n-blow.

But the MasterBlaster is a dual 4hp blower only. So 8hp of car drying power. And the dual motors also heat the filtered air to aid in drying.

I have both the 4 hp Vac and Blow and the 8 hp Master Blaster. The Vac and Blo(w) is good for spot drying but it isn't super duper powerful. The Master Blaster is on a whole different level.

Is it a good vacuum? I'm looking to replace my shopvac

One day maybe, I'll pull the trigger. But a side of me wants to push the money into a big reliable compressor and outfitting a nice cord/attachment setup.

You know Troy, I wonder if the 1 1/2" hose that comes with it is a standard size and connection. I have 2 longer hoses here that would fit on it quite nicely making it more convenient...:bigups

The hose is a standard size. It is just a friction but and uses a hose clamp to hold it on the nipple. I know some who have taken a pool hose to extend it 2x the distance. Metro sells an extension hose but PBMG does not carry it.

What would the advantages be of the MB as opposed to using an air compressor in conjunction with a blow gun?

For me it is a few things.

  • The amount of air generated
  • The air is filtered
  • The air is actually warmed by the motors helping the drying process
  • It's on wheels and can also be easily carried
  • Can be hauled to a job if needed

Great reply Troy! :bigups

I probably would have said the same thing but mine hasn't showed up yet......:D

Talking about the 20 amp thing. My house is plumbed for a central vac, which I have never installed, but there is a single plug in the garage on one wall plate (rather than the standard 2 per plate) and the outlet is the shape of a circle (see photo). I assume this was put there for the central vac unit. Is this a higher amp outlet?

You need to look at the circuit box to determine the rating. I have an outlet for a central vac but is a 240V outlet.

I have had the smaller one with a single motor for several years. I use it everyday at my shop. It was half the price and works very well. It does not need a 20 amp circuit and still has warm air.

The junkman over on youtube has a video abut this very subject. Worth the watch.
