Menz PO85RD

Man...am I the only one who didn't know about this?? It's cheap(er) too...

I need a quick answer from someone who has used both 106FF (which I currently have) and PO85RD. Is it worth getting the PO85RD, if I already have 106FF...will I really notice any dramatic difference between the two? I've read a lot of praise about PO85RD. The "limited supply" is concerning me. Maybe I should just order it and justify it later...:idea

Menzerna Final Finish PO85RDLimited Supply!Free Bonus!

AG ordered a few cases of it from what they said on there forum. Kinda sucks seeing as how I have a package showing up today of 106/SIP, I won't know what I'm missing (or not missing).

106ff and 85rd will finish exactly the same. 85rd just has very mild cut. I like to think of it as a polish that a noob can finish with on a rotary.

Thanks much...that's exactly what I needed to know.

Not to argue, but I *swear* 85rd finishes better. It's just a matter of semantics though, they both finish well beyond the competition. May just be an issue of my mind sees what it wants to see.

According to Menzerna they both finish with a gloss level of 5. I can't tell the difference between the two products other than the cut.

I've used the 85RD FP for a few years now and besides the weaker polishing power, I reckon the finish is a little wetter than 106 which offers good wetness but clearer and sharper reflections.

I would think it also depends on what type of finish you are working on!

If it is soft paint like I do have on my car, then I use my 85rd,

if I am doing my other car "SUV" I would use my 106FF to finish down,

1 fact:

106FF larger particles = more cut to it

85rd smaller= less cut to it perfect for soft finicky paint.

They both work just fine on super soft paint.

I don't know about that but I do know what an "autopian"

did my car with 106FF, next morning there was still some buffer swirls on it,

again what I made was a guess, and I think it makes more sense,

or else, why would a company such as menzerna release the same product

in different labels?

I didn't say they were the same. They finish the same but they do have different levels of cut as I stated in my first post in this thread. I've finished many cars with 106ff without a trail to speak of.

I think you summed it up pretty good previously,

it is a polish for noobs with a rotary, 106FF needs more of skill to finish down

perfect, more or less pressure and it gets missed up.

It also dusts up pretty bad compared to 85rd as the later has more lubricants.

+1 for using 106ff on soft clear and having it lsp ready!

I've used both, on the same panel of the same car during the same detail job. I really didn't notice any difference in the final look. If I had a car that didn't need the correction, I'd use the 85RD. If some correction was needed, I'd use the 106FF. Both finish off the same in my opinion.

I've added more lube to my gallon of 106 to stop the dusting

As long as your using no pressure and finishing at 700 to 900, it should look great

How did you add more lube??

I add a drop of opt. polish on my pad = no dusting & longer work times.. is this your practice?

I agree, 106ff had more cut but finishes the same as 85rd.
