Kidding aside I lived in Bama for a bit over 10 years and I really did get married once in Talladega! Wasn't kinfolk though, sorry to disappoint!

I live very, very close to the Talladega Super Speedway, so I see the redneck/inbred convention come through twice a year - not to mention all the hicks that live here on top of that.

I get to drive by Talladega usually 2x per year when I go down to see my Dad in Mississippi. They have some huge Dodge flags and very pretty area. I-20 is gettinh some much needed paving (maybe 10 yrs too late).

I have heard that the concrete stretch through there has been there since the 70's. I do not know how true that is.

The area of Alabama I live in has some of the best hunting and fishing either in or very near it, which negates a lot of the fact that I live in Alabama. Hard to not like it here when there's all the stuff I really like to do right at my fingertips.

And when the world is coming to an end, all my DC buddies can make a trip to my area and we can live off venison, wild turkey and fish. I also have a lot of guns and ammo.

I can believe it the 70's. The stretch near Anniston has been awful.
