Meguiars Wax

What is the opinion on Meguiars wax products? Is one wax better than the other?

I find them to be great OTC waxes. There are other waxes that may offer longer protection, but in terms of look, cost , and ease of use, I think they do very well. Plus you can get them just about any where.

Among enthusiastic Meguiar's users, NXT/M21 are the overwhelming favorites, but Yellow Tech Wax (M26) also has a passionate following, especially when used in combination with #7 glaze. M26 is also sometimes used as a topper over NXT.

I heard great things about #16 which is why I bought it. You'll find lots of info frm Search. Its still available in Canada. Thus far, I like it. Will soon try M26 to compare.

+2 I will add that Meguiar's products are highly underrated because you can get most of them OTC. One of my personal favorites on my red Prelude is NXT topped with M26. IMO, M26 ranks right up there with Pinnacle Souveran, though it's not nearly as easy to take off.

I haven't really tried any of their polishes, but I've heard great things about their newest ones, namely M205. I just ordered a bottle along with #7 from Amazon. I can't wait to try them out!:bigups

So far I've only used Gold Class OTC wax and it looks nice on a dark car but doesn't last very long. I've recently purchased 26 and was going to put it on but when I pulled out the g110 that i just purchased, there was no backing plate.

Meguiar's has not been around forever for anything. NXT, 26, M21 are underrated. Meg 26 anf NXT2 Version 2.0 are ecxcellant products OTC.

Can still apply it by hand!

The problem I have with NXT and GC is they stain trim so badly. 16 and 26 are great waxes. The 21 is also surprisingly nice once you get it shaken up (I have the original version).

Gold Class isn't a bad wax they make

I actually like the Gold Class line a lot. Their auto shampoo is first rate and I love the smell of their leather cleaner/conditioner.

A few weeks ago, I washed and polished my red Prelude. I used Liquid Souveran that day, but, just for kicks, I divided my hood with blue masking tape and waxed the driver side & panel with Liquid Souveran and the passenger side & panel with liquid Gold Class. Personally, I couldn't tell the difference if my life depended on it.

Whether GC stains or not is a non-issue for me because I always go over all the trim with Black Again after waxing whether I think they need it or not. I love the shiny trim look.:2thumbs:

yes, the more popular one is NXT and as mentioned they have the advantage of being available almost anywhere.

only Megs wax I have used is the Yellow #26. I use their M80, M82, swirlx, scracth x, ultimate compound, uqd, uqw.

All good stuff

I don't have staining issues with M21 2.0... if I get it on the trim I just wipe it off. It doesn't stain it.

Ultimate Quik Wax is freaking amazing...that stuff can be applied to the whole car in 5 minutes, over trim, plastic, paint, and glass. It sheets water better than OCW, too.

yeah meg's nxt 2.0 goes on easy and comes off like a dream, but like most people said, watch out for trim but if you get any on it, wipe it off asap and you'll be fine

i am going to pick up a bottle of their ultimate quik wax soon since i love the idea of being to wax my car in about five minutes

=D
