Meg's 105 & 205

quick questions? I use the pc 7424 lots, and I use pb's 2.5, and sometimes dacp, to tackle lots of sick jobs. I mainly use meguiars polishing pads, and sometimes light cut orange pads from lc i think.

what advantages does the flex have over the pc?
higher speeds?

and how does m105 compare to dacp?
seams it finishes down better just from reading posts?

Forced rotation and higher speed (OPM).

105 finishes down pretty nice. I wouldn't say LSP ready, but nice enough to be followed by a light finish polish. I like it better than DACP. My time using both is pretty minimal, so this is really just my beginning opinions on both products. Never really used DACP much.

jared is worth the money, is it that much better then the pc?

In my opinion - yes, the Flex is that much better than the PC. If I had to pick between the two, I'd go Flex. The PC will still have a place for use, but I will always do the bulk of my work with the Flex now.

There are some things with the Flex I don't like.

I'm not really interested anymore in learning to use the rotary well enough to use it on vehicles, but you can probably get a rotary for less than the Flex. Just another option to throw in the mix.

JP,

Can you use the same pads on the flex as on the PC.I have noticed what I thought was a problem with my Pc when using 6" pads.I like a smaller pad because it seems to be easier on the PC it self.Could be my imagination but just wanted to know.It sounds like it works much harder doing the work.I like using the larger pads on bigger areas hoods long qtr panels and such.I have never seen a flex but sounds like a power house.:yay

Hope this was not a stupid post.:passout:

You can, as was mentioned earlier, use the 5.5" pads if you modify the Flex backing plate. I use 5.5" flat pads (as well as 4" pads with the small backing plate - well I used to before it "blew up") on the PC. When I bought the Flex, i bought all new 6.5" pads for it. I'd like to even try some bigger pads for the Flex one day. I think it can do correction with the bigger pads without too much sacrifice - unlike the PC, where if you get too big a pad the machine has a tendency to not work quite as well. In my opinion, of course.

And compared to the PC & Cyclo, the Flex is a real monster (in a good way).
