Lurker out of the shadows

NattyBumppo

Strange name, ain't it?
Hello all,

I've been lurking for a couple of weeks reading up on all the incredible posts, reviews, how-to's, etc and finally decided to sign up. Let me say this is the most incredible resource for auto detailing I've ever seen. You folks are a goldmine of information.

I've had a love affair with automobiles ever since my father used to let me shift gears for him in his 60-something Beetle (don't recall exactly what year it was). He would apply the clutch and say "now" and I'd shift to the next gear. Obviously, times were different as now my kids aren't even allowed in the front passenger seat!

I've had some pretty decent rides over the years, my favorite being a 1969 Mach 1. I've always been sort of nuts about keeping my rides clean and in good shape and in return I've usually been repaid by having very reliable and trustworthy autos. Times change so the days of the Mach 1 and Lil'RedExpress type vehicles are gone for me (at least for the next 15 years or so) but I still go the extra mile to keep our families vehicles looking and working the best they can.

I doubt I'll be able to help out since compared to most others here I'm a hacker detailer but if asked, I'll certainly try. And pardon me in advance if I ask a stupid question....no doubt it'll happen  .

Regards,

Natty

Don't be so humble, Natty. Everyone has something to contribute. Welcome! Just make sure you use the search function often instead of starting new threads. The members here are usually VERY patient (at least they have been with me, and I am pretty new at this level of detailing too). The only downside of being on this forum is that my garage now looks like a chemical warehouse! :D

This is a great place, you'll love it! The problem, as 2wheelsx2 mentioned, is that we make you spend lots of money. :D

Welcome and I am also new and have nothing but good things to say about this great site. The only hard part about this site is deciding which wax to use.

Long live AUTOPIA !!!! :bounce

PS- I would have found a way to stuff the family in the 1969 MACH 1, what a car. Love the Mustatngs.

Oh I can see that already. I recently added an additional 3 tiered shelf in the garage for my "truck stuff" and it is getting pretty cluttered with various supplies (my car and truck towels are softer than my bath towels). And if anyone ever told me I'd even consider buying a $70.00 can of paste wax I would have laughed in their face....now I can't wait for my Hi-Tech #26 to run dry just so I can give Souveran a try. I may end up waxing my truck and wife's car every week in an attempt to run the Mequiars supply down. :D

And thanks for all the welcomes.

Hahaha, I thought the exact same thing. But.... On my car lies 2 coats of Souveran.

From one Newbie to another, welcome.

:wavey

From another newbie, welcome. And, if you're the same NattyBumppo from the f150online board, a double-welcome to you. This is a great board for gathering and sharing information.

ernie

PS I haven't yet made the jump to Souveran but, for the cost of all the other stuff I've bought since I've been reading this board, I could have had, well........quite a few tins of it;)

Yep, that would be me. Welcome to you as well, nice to see another F-Series fan. I haven't visited 150online much since I found a home at F150World. Online is a fine site, I just kind of got drawn in by a few folks over at World and well, seems that is where I hang my hat most of the time. I know what you mean about spending on mods and accessories :D . I'm now on a first name basis with the UPS guy.

Thanks again, stop in at World and say hello.
