Looking for a behemoth of a truck

I have to agree with Scottwax.....Ford Powerstroke with a Banks kit ( even thought the Banks kits are $$$$$$)

I LOVE my 03 Crewcab F250..my backseat is bigger than most peoples front...I wanted the diesel, but didnt have the extra 5k + for the option at the time. Still wouldnt have bought any other truck...the SuperDutys are the best looking heavy duty....but my opinion is alittle biased.

The only problem I have with buying a used diesel is the previous owner.....LOTS of landscaping/ construction companies buy them and haul heavy trailers 6 days a week, with people driving them that dont give a damn. Sure it could look good when you get it, but..........just watch out for those GREAT DEALS!!

As far as the trannies go.......alot has to deal with the user. I know with the auto's, you should always turn off the AOD for around town driving, just use it on the highways, etc. And , of course, if you are bogging thru the mud, or doing burnouts with 38" tires ...you are putting some serious stress on your trannies innards and if you dont have the mods that are going to help....like boosting the line pressure to prevent slipping, then you are going to toast a very pricey tranny.

thats a pretty stout dodge

my 97 f250 the factory towing manual that came with it says the bed max load for the truck is 2087 lbs and 17,000 lbs at the hitch

i know people with the fifth wheels pulling 24,000 lbs including trailor and say that its fine i have no need for that large of a load but ive pulled a 2 car trailer with two nissan 240sx's and barley felt them behind me on the highway ride

anyways for the extra power the banks kit gives you you can get all that power and more from cheaper alternatives that are just as good if not better

my personal experiences with banks have not been acceptable

their tech support doesnt even know what their products do

anyways thats my beef i dont really care for the Superduty look quite frankly i dont like the way any vehicals are starting to look these days but thats just opinnion

i do like the power they make though :bounce

My 2004 Durango has the 5.7 Hemi motor and a Mercedes tranny that is absolutely buttery smooth. I've never had a car this smooth and powerful, much less a truck. Hopefully it holds out.

People tend to have very strong feelings when conversations start about trucks. I think they all have strengths and weaknesses, and really don't think any modern vehicle in this price range ($35k+) is "bad".

Just a little outside your specified price range, but what the heck - ya only live once! :D

Holy ****, thanks for posting that.

I saw this exact truck at the beach this past summer. License plate read "TUGOWAR". It literally made every mullet-mobile and rice rocket cruising the street stop as it passed. My friend and I on our bikes just stared at it. I couldn't find it since then.
