Yes the wheels are a PITA to clean. They probably take me longet to do the wheels then the rest of the car. Right now, I have them coated with Wheel Wax, so when I do an ONR wash (too cold here in NJ for a regular wash), I use a dedicated 3rd bucket just for the wheels. I first spray them with ONR at QD strength. Then I use a soft wheel brush for the face of the wheel. Then I use a MF brush to get inbetween the openings (I LOVE this brush). Then I just go over it with some clean ONR.
During the summer months, I will use P21S Gel, and all the same brushes in car shampoo. Once the wheels have been sealed, just use the brushes with shampoo.
I'm sure that what I have laid out is nothing different from what you already do, but what the heck.
