how do you not like the p21s wax?? i think its one of the best waxes out there in terms of looks.

Cause it doesn't last more than a week or two in Australia

Looks don't mean anything if they don't last

Natty's Blue- not that it was horrible, I just thought my paint looked light and dull with it.

Black Magic Detail Spray- the worst QD I've ever used

Meg's Gold Class Leather Wipes- horrible bright shine

AA Glass Cleaner- terrible product

Mothers Back To Black- I HATE this product. Runs after any rain.

RainX Wash and Wax- absolutely no lubricity

Zaino Z2- just wasn't impressed with the look

Haha oh man I almost forgot how much I hated that stuff when I was starting out. Gotta hand it to the marketing genius who put tire shine in a half-sized bottle and charged twice as much for it though :). I think the happiest day of my detailing life was when I found out B2B wasn't the only trim dressing out there.

Megs Endurance Tire gels - (Hi gloss & satin) - what a mess they make. Do not spread well. Bought 6 bottles of satin at BigLots based on other's claims here. Not sure what to do with it. It doesn't even apply to the wheel wells easily.

Surprised by that. Is it the blackcurrant smelling one? I think its great.

I had a problem with it to start with but that was because of the previosly applied Tyre Shine. I had to scrub that back to get the tyres clean.

Then apply sparingly with foam sponge. wait to dry and apply thin top coat.

wait a few more mins and give the tyre a light wipe down with a sponge to take off excess.

It looks great for 3 weeks, then for the next month or so it remains at a nice level.

Products

- Soft99: nearly everything in the range is just so average

- Zymol leather conditioner - poor durablily

- 95% of Japanese made car care products. They might make the best cars, but their car care products suck big-time

A few horrible products I've tried:

Prowax C-13 Super Glass Gleam - This stuff streaks and hazes like crazy. The WORST glass cleaner I've ever paid for.

Prowax P-35-H Satin Creme wax - Just did absolutely nothing for the look of my truck. And water no longer sheeted after 2 washes.

Meguars Water Magnet - On display in the store, it seemed fine. But after the 1st washing, it got very rough. I would be very afraid to now let it touch my paint.

I use armorall on the bumpers only even though it dries in about a day or two in the sun, but other than that I hate armorall. Their glass wipes used to work ok, but now for some reason they streak so I just use them to wipe things down now.

Also I don't like Meguars wax either. It's funny how popular armorall and Meguars are on tv, magazines, and in auto parts stores even though they really suck. I guess all the good stuff is unheard of, but thats a good thing.

Thousands and thousands of people would disagree about meguiars sucking. Sometimes its only the opinion of one person. :xyxthumbs

-I was always let down with the durability of NXTv1 but that product is no longer made so it doesnt matter any more. :)

In all fairness the only Meguiars product I have used is the wax, but I'm sure there are thousands and thousands of people that would back me up. But I will agree with you that weither or not it sucks depends on who you ask.

1. Natural Sea Sponge - Marred the heck out of my paint.

2. Cobra MF's - they leave more lint on my car than my dryer

3. Stoner Invisible Glass Cleaner - fogs the heck out of my windows in the morning

4. Zaino Z10 - a very strong old leather mitt smell)

5. Meguiars NXT - mutes the flakes on my paint and durability sucks

I'll update the list when I remember the other ones.

Z10? Boooo.... I love that stuff !

i agree that the majority of their regular wal-mart otc products do, in fact, suck.

and their wax does suck. the ardex labs is less than a mile from my house and i have to admit that they make a much better lines of waxes than nearly anything i have tried.

until a few years ago, when people used to tell me meguiars was good i would laugh in their face. naive me didn't know that they also made a professional line, which is a very very solid line of products.

then again they have a wax (#16)

that has a cult-like following

My favorite wax is still 26. Granted, I haven't tried the higher end pastes, but I love 26.

Oops, this thread is about dislikes. :D

Wolfgang sealant. Well, or the paint prep, for that matter. Agree w/ Brandon.

OC: poor cut, takes all day

Scratchbuster pad: little foam circles self-destruct, seem useless.

This is a very cool thread. Love the read.

As for me, only products I disliked were:

Armor All

Eagle 1 Wheel Cleaners (guess a matter of expectation, none of them really works over plain old car wash and scrub)

Turtle Wax Rubbing Compound - hehe, my list was too short, so I put this on

2 of the feedback I was surprised at:

303 - I guess I came from Armor All, and absolutely love the no residue / no oily feeling

Stoner's - I've had great results w/ MF towels. I introduced it to both my neighbors by letting them borrow the bottle w/o me there (no influence), and they both loved it and ended up buying it that weekend.

You only tried one product and now the whole line sucks? Oh well, the way you feel about the Meguiar's wax, I feel the same about the GM car :grinno:

Anyway, I can't think of ten products, but here are a few:

KAIO - Nothing special about it

LC orange pads via rotary - They skip and grab. By DA they work well.

Microfiber bonnets - When removing wax they tend to leave dust trails behind, meaning I have to go over the car again with a MF towel.

Poli-seal via rotary - It gums up and leaves little hard to remove specks behind. By DA it works like a charm though.

1. Megiuars Cleaner Wax (the relatively expensive one)

2. The Zaino system (except the leather treatment and clay)

3. Liquid Glass Polish (a sealant....could be the worst product I've tried)

4. Gliptone's Paste Carnauba Wax (which is really a cleaner-wax)

5. Zymol's Cleaner Wax (a marginal, expensive product that is unfit to carry Zymol's Brand Name).

6. Meguiars Quick Detail (heavy, greasy, poor performance)

7. Zymol's Field Glaze (greasy, and not enough quantity for the price)

8. Armour All Protectorants

9. Meguiar's Leather Conditioner

10. Meguiars Deep Crystal Wax (adequate for beginners....but woefully outclassed in general).
