First, a few updates.

This is an Escalade I detailed on December 9th and used Race Glaze Polish and Sealant (applied via PC with a polishing pad). This is the beading when washing it on December 31st. Yes, I worked New Year's Eve.

Chevy Silverado, exterior detailed on December 11th using Meguiars #80 with a polishing pad and #16 by hand. I took this pictures on January 1st, after a QEW wash. Yes, I worked New Year's Day.

1969 Dodge Dart. Detailed on December 4th with 1Z Metallic Polish with a polishing pad, and 1Z Glanz Wax and Natty's Paste by hand. Looked like this on that day:

Looked like this on Saturday (January 1st). Why get it polished and waxed if you were going to do this????!!!

Too make matter worse, he laid a blanket on the roof, then on of the fenders on top of the blanket. A gust of wind caught the fender, and it slid down onto the trunk lid (gouging the paint on the trunk lid), then the fender continued down his pebble drive, tearing up the paint on that as well.

Now on to the Shokar pics.

1998 Toyota Land Cruiser. Single stage white paint. I've been taking care of this car since new, although the past few years since his kid has been driving it, I only see it once or twice a year. Overall the paint was in good shape but I did need clay it and to polish out the hood with Poorboy's SSR2.5 and a polishing pad first to remove some oxidation. I then used Shokar Multi-prep (from hence forth, SKMP) with a Propel blue finishing pad and Shokar Sealant (SKS from now on) by hand.

2003 Honda Accord. This car is about a year and a half old, this was the first time it had been waxed. I had to clay it first, then used SKMP with a Propel blue finishing pad and SKS by hand.

1998 Mercedes CL500. Mother nature would not cooperate today. Nice and warm but storms and rain rolled in before I finished. I had to take the pics in the garage, sorry. Next week, I should be able to get outside shots if it is dry since I clean this car weekly.

SKMP with a Propel blue pad and SKS by hand. Moose wax on the chrome wheels.

Interior cleaned with Woolite/water mix and leather was dressed with Meguiars Gold Class for leather (spray version) and the vinyl with Armor All. Seats are still a touch shiny at this point and the flash didn't help. After 30-40 minutes the leather returns to its natural sheen but I didn't really want to wait around for that to happen. ;)

Excellent work Scott... but, what happened to the next to last pic? Garage lighting that bad? Not on par with your usual quality pics... Your work looks 100% outstanding though.

How do you feel about the look of the new sealant? I'm thinking that once again you may find yourself falling back on carauba if it were your car - looks a bit glossy like UPP... not meaning to sound negative.

This is the first time I'm seeing Propel brand pads. Can you fill us in on them more: where to buy, etc?

I sure hope the ShoKar competition to the Klasse twins becomes readily available . From what i read, it appears that might not be so :(

He he, is the Mercedes owner planing on building a rubber band ball ? ;)

Tanguy-that was the best I could get the whole car shot. It was around 5:30 PM, right before sunset and it was raining pretty hard. Having to use flash doesn't help either.

Actually, the Shokar sealant looks more like EX-P or Zaino Z2 Pro rather than UPP. I guess you could call it a wet glass look. I used it on the black CL500 because it is a metallic black and sealants tend to look pretty good on them. SKS looks really good on silver and white.

Great work as always Scott. I may be wrong, but I didn't think you were using Poorboy's SSRs; hope you like them as much as I do.

I second, or maybe third, your endorsement of Excel Detail and the Propel pads.

I got a sample of SSR2.5 from Scottabir to try. Very nice product, seems about as aggressive as DACP and has a great bubble gum smell. :)

is the SSR 2.5 about the same as menzerna IP ??

just wondering, i love the menzerna twins but would like to use different products once i run out, just to see which i like more

Scottwax, do you have a preference between SSR2.5 and 83? I was about to order some 83 from my local Megs distributor but found SSR2.5 to be on sale at SMP and I figured it would be as good as 83.

I tried using 2.5 on the hood of my car w/ a polish pad, it took awhile to reduce the swirls. I'm thinking that it could the crappy pad the PC comes with.

oh yeah, gorgeous pics as usual

They are very close in abrasiveness, but SSR 2.5 definitely smells better! I have had a bit better luck with DACP on scratches, but SSR 2.5 is my first choice for swirl removal.

Right now, I prefer #83 because I've used it for so long and am very familiar with how it breaks down. I'm still trying to get the hang of that with 2.5. Still, it leaves the paint looking pretty good.

I wouldn't count it out completely. If it does not see production this summer, it will likely be the summer after! It's sad that there is suck a good product just waiting to be released!
