Hey Prinz,

I am covered under my current insurance and I have a ton of product right now that I can use up. I would have to order a few things but thats about it. Megan would work with me on weekends, she usually does interiors. I can handle it during the week myself thats not an issue. Its just 4-6 cars a week. I am supposed to meet with the guy today or tomorrow. I hope it works out. Did you see Megan and I got married?

I think it may lead to bigger and better things, but just make sure you don't price yourself to a point they don't want to use you. Given the volume of vehicles you are starting with, they are "testing" you to see if you are up to snuff. If your work pans out, they may expand your workload or, best case, refer you to other dealers for additional work.

I think Pinz is having fun with you cuz he figured out the Oz came back... AGAIN... after being banned.

I believe that you own Prinz an apology for dropping the N-bomb on him the last time you were banned... don't you?

You guys just figured out he was Ozz? :rofl

Indeed I do, Prinz I do apologize for that. Different person at the time in a different life. If you read my last 600+ posts you will see that. Anyways hope you are doing well.

You've been more pleasant on OT as well.

Ive never hid who I am, if someone asked I was honest, I just did not advertise it thats all. There are many posts where I stated I have been here for years. Again, different person and time.

One more thing. Is the dealership going to let you detail indoors when the MN weather turns inclement?
Yeah we have not crossed that bridge yet. I explained to them that I can do the volume until I pick up my new 9-5 and after that I can do two a week for them. They stated that was fine, I guess I will cross that bridge when I come to it. I am working from my home though and have a large propane heater that warms the garage up to about 70 degrees. Its funny too because I can leave my detailing chemicals in the garage all year long and nothing freezes. Even when its 10 below here my garage never gets below 32.

When did you take the hike to AZ? You are a big feller like me, how are you handling the heat?

Meg's #66 on a white pad and rotary is excellent for dealer work, it's cheaper, cuts harder, and fills better than PS. I would go with wheel brightener instead of SnR - it's cheaper and dilutes 4:1, so you can make 5 gallons of spray and rinse cleaner for 20 bucks.

haha, exactly what I use with "dealer details" or buffs on the cheap.

Megs #66 with a white pad via rotary or with an orange LC pad via PC

and Megs WB for the rims. Never lets me down!

So what ended up happening?

I would use ONR, skip the clay and go straight to M66 via rotary then be done with the paint.
Done two cars for them so far. Was hoping to get more for them but just have to wait it out. I just used Poorboys Polish with Carnuba on the surface and used some Menzerna IP in a few tough spots that they said the knew wouldnt get out so I wanted to prove them wrong. I have an interior only with them tomorrow. I was hoping for 1 car a day but nothing is moving right now at the dealership.

Hey, whatever puts food on the table until you get a 9-5 job. Good thinking on proving them wrong about some of the imperfections. Might change their thinking a little about detailers and lead to higher paying jobs.

Good luck!

Well it wasnt all peaches. My wife cam home and said that she would vacuum out the back and then she missed going under a seat and he called that out on us right away. I took two things away from that.

  1. Always do interiors first as you are the worst at them
  2. Always inspect the wifes work when she is done
